Hi guys

I got a Car VX report for my Alphard and it had some auction pictures from Japan, one of which showed two fobs and a remote start fob on the front seat.

I received both fobs when I bought the car but no remote start fob so I bought one from Japan.

It arrived and seems to be working OK, screen lights up etc but when I press the buttons on it beside the car nothing happens.

Is there a way to assign the fob to the car? I have googled it extensively but nothing comes up, not in English anyway :)!

Would need to know what system you have.

Some literally have one of the actual car fobs inside a Faraday box, so when you use the remote start, it connects the actual standard fob to the security ecu to fool in into thinking you are sat in the car.

What remote start system do you have?

Hi Chris

I am not even sure I have a remote start system, it wasn't advertised as having it, I just saw a picture of my car with a remote start fob on the front seat with the other two fobs, which I actually received, but there was no remote start fob supplied when I picked up the car.

Is there any way of telling whether remote start is fitted visually for example in the engine bay or through the stereo screen? (I have the 18 speaker upgraded entertainment sytem).
