Greetings,

Our Eco camper Olly has developed what we understand is a Hybrid system fault (please see picture). Can anybody steer us in the right direction. Our local garages (AME being one of them) don't have the Japanese diagnostic tool.

Many thanks in advance,

Shazza n Phil

As you are in Scotland, Hybrid Battery Repair based out of Glasgow seem to get reviews from Alphard hybrid owners. https://hybridbatteryrepair.co.uk/

One of the most common faults is the hybrid coolant pump failing. If the lights aren't on when started from cold and then they come on after a short drive, this could be an indicator of a coolant issue. An easy way to check is to take the cap off the hybrid coolant radiator (the pressure cap on the right hand side when standing in front of the car) and you should be able to see the coolant level bobbing about with the engine running. If not the electric coolant pump has likely failed. Don't take the cap off when warmed up unless you like hot steam on your skin 🥴
