Japanese Car Stereo Gracenote and SD Jukebox Music NHZN W57

Featured Replies

This was an answer reply I'd sent another member on an old post, but this info should have been posted here first really. Especially for those who have a Japanese double din stereo in their vehicle. Example the Panasonic NHZN-W57 Multi Av Station. And want to know how to put music on the SD card to use in the front SD slot.

After much research, the answers are here.

1) Panasonic Gracenote software is already in the head unit on the hard drive and automatically records your CDs as they play , storing the tunes on internal hard drive.

2) You can create and play compilation MP3 DVDs (all tunes onto root, no folders. Must be ripped at VBR 64 - 128kbps) Try 192kbps.

3a) You can play music via the SD slot on head unit. The plug in usb SD card reader to format the SD card using through the Jukebox PC software must have the CPRM feature in it for it to work. (google it)

3b) The SD card has to be 2GB maximum in size. Some info out there suggests the SD-XC type don't work. Try it.

4) Install a copy of Panasonic SD Jukebox software according to your operating system. Last version is v6.95. But there are others based on operating system requirements.

5) Links and pictures showing software downloads and SD reader writer types and instructions.

5) Explanations from other people who have used the software successfully.
