Long time reader first time poster.

I have a 2005 hybrid, and we have the dreaded p3125 code.

I suspect a cooler pump, and have managed to get techstream going.

I am hoping to get some second opinions of the output, or where I should be looking to confirm this.

Is the MG1 temp a red herring? How about the high water temp?

Also, if anyone else looking for help getting techstream going, there's a great article just search "techstream in 5 minutes. I also watched a video on YouTube by "jafffa adventures". Hint, if you have issues with it, change your PC's clock!

There should be a sub code to go with that fault code that will allow better diagnosis of the issue. I believe MG1 on the Alphard doesn't have any temperature monitoring, so that is why it is showing zero. Which high water temp are you referring to? I can see a water temp of 83 Deg C, which is perfectly reasonable for an engine cooling system.

You can easily check if the Inverter cooling pump is working by running the engine, remove the filler cap which is the one on the right side top of the radiator. Look in the neck and if you see movement of the coolant, usually a slight up and down movement, then it should be ok. If you can't see coolant then try topping up with Toyota Pink. If the system is actually full then a cap full should overflow. If this is working then you can look elsewhere. I would advise changing the pump any way as pre-emptive servicing because they do fail.

It has been a while since I needed to use Techstream, but I think if you go to System select or stored date where the code has been flagged up. Double click on the code which should open another page with the data, in the header or first line in the data list hopefully will be a three digit number. This goes with the main code P3125- xxx to give the cause of the fault, there are about 100 sub codes!!
