Alpine rear screen
Similar quest here. If I get a head unit with dvd player and standard video out (yellow rca) will it connect happily to the standard Alpine TMX-R1050VG drop screen?

Thanks all. I checked every fuse. Two were broken, swapped them out and I’m good to go!!

Ah thanks very much! I’m going to spend today checking the fuses and will text the alternator as well. and yeah. My brother said the same thing about the battery… rookie mistake

To add - I put the old head unit back in and cancelled the swap. The head unit does not work either.

Blown something up - instrument cluster dead
Hey all During an attempt to swap a head unit over I have shorted something out. My wife is going to kill me in my sleep. Or maybe even while I’m awake? Power was turned on mid swap. There was a quiet fizzle, and a smell. The speedo, rev counter, gear select on the instrument cluster is dead. Lit, but no movement. I cannot open the slide doors unless the van is off. I started checking fuses earlier and have had to pause until tomorrow. The 10a fuses for the cluster seem fine. Any thoughts out there on first things to check? Thank you. I hope I make it through the night

Thanks both! I'm waiting on the head unit to arrive and I'm sure I'll be back in tears shortly

Rear camera
Hey Zak, Yet another revival of this gold mine of a thread. Going through the same motions. Are you still happy with this setup? Apart from the remote thing. Where did you get to with the cameras? I noticed the Ali link mentions 360 cameras can work, wondering how much faith to put in that. And generally this working well long term. Cheers
