  1. I didnt, vehicle came from jAPAN AS A REMAP (without any official paper work to confirm the remap power change) the 3.0ltr engine in these models originated from the old sports car toyota marketed sorry cant remember which model that was however I would have though 260+ would be possible but from my experience I dont believe the vehicle in standard form is up to increasing the BHP dont forget this vehicle was designed as a luxury people carrier which would require higher torgue with a small increase in BHP
  2. Great van/mpv, etc,etc but due to the lack of professional customisimg its not practical for serious conversion, from my experience, cost wise, poor after sales professionalisam too many 'fast buck wise boys' selling them I could go on, if you just want a very smart MPV that drives very nicely and a very reasonable purchase cost then this is for you
  3. Pretty good if you prefer a stand-up type fitting, this type of fitting has exsisted for quite a while now take a look at 'Northstars' conversion my issue is we dont all want pop-up roofs but would like a flat roof fitting awning which Fiamma and Thule have been manufacturing for several years........
  4. sorry no such beast as neither Fiamma or thule currently make wind-outs for this vehicle, you can get brackets that allow a wind out to be fitted ajacent to a pop-up type roof but if you dont want a P&P roof you will become stuck (brackets)...I have been reserching this issue for nearly a year and have made some proto types but still faced with the problem of a sloping roof .
  5. (no its a 3.0ltr remapped)
  6. I should'nt if I were you, mine's lowered 50mm always bottoms out with pot holes and also loss of suspension rate if you have converted it to a campervan
  7. Sea front road over the bridge go through round-about towards worthing look to your left you will see white Alphard parked in drive (only one along here) mornings best for us
  8. High! were located in West Sussex (Shoreham district). There are many different versions of what is the workable within a confined space however, right now there are two popular styles of side kitchens the one that became the trench mark of the VW custom builders and the later one which the sink and gas rings sit behind the drivers seat back, this model is in my opinion more appealing, but I consider it to be a possible fire Hazard, the rear type of conversion is fitted across the rear of the vehicle I fitted this style into my Bongo ..... problem is with this style is that you can end up having to cook on the outside with the tail gate up and raining, it's all about choice
  9. Yes I can understand that, to me is the usage factor has also be considered of what your prepared to pay for instance I haven't used my built-in rear fog lights on my Kodiaq since I purchased the vehicle two years ago😎
  10. Why all of these posts regarding rear fog lights!! Here's my photo of this Topic, twin lights, fused/relay switched via a led rocker switch, fitted within the dash switches, compliments the 'back-side' of the vehicle, Simple, neat, not fussy
  11. Can I ask where is your nearest LPG Supplier as I live in West Sussex and the nearest supplier to us was nearly twenty miles away, I owned a motor home which I converted to Gaslow the worst thing I ever did...
  12. not if you buy the 'double arm' type reaches the edge of the dash ..(you wont find this in Halfords)
  13. Easy! Just mount it to the quarter side window with a sucker mount, if that's not what you want, get yourself a dash mounting disc from Halfords or the 'net'..don't forget to clean the dash area first, otherwise the disc will come away from the dash surface
  14. Photo albums show ' Hulkster77' towing with his Alphard why don't to post him the query😎
  15. Look at the THULE range. I understand there's a model in their range that would fit...as yet no Manufacture supports Alphards over ten years old
  16. Having fixed this problem on three different vehicles, I can advise you to pay the 'bucks' and purchase a 'Fin' shaped pre-amp roof aerial fitted as far away from the electronic interferences sources of the front dash area, no not cheap but if your really in ore of the poorly supported DAB this is the way to go
  17. (Very sorry I missed your post) 4 motorhomes and two caravans later its been quite an experience but knowing what I know now I would go back to a motor home. I don't know what you're referring to regarding awning clips. I'm not aware that there are any clips recommended for the alphard ? as the reality is nothing is recommend for Alphard regarding the tent, are you looking for drive away or a Tent? Drive- away if your temperament can cope with having to line your Alphard to the drive- away tent after coming back from wherever, We used a self- inflate drive away when we had the VW......Can't really advise what make to purchase, as there are so many reasons of what you are looking for ..my advice is don't by cheap
  18. Interestedly, I once owned an ex demo Rover 75 fully loaded (lovely car) after some months of owning it, I noticed it would drift to the left..I hand all the usual geometry checks carried out by the dealer nothing really found, some time later I read in a trade magazine article about this problem they recommended that you swapped the tyre from the N/S/F wheel and fitted it to the N/S/R wheel (same direction but slight load difference)... two days later the problem disappeared
  19. First of all you need to determine what kind of conversion you want. You can't really do your costings of a proposed conversion without knowing what you need. So far our conversion has cost over £13,000.... my view on pop-tops is if you have young children forget the pop-top's an inflatable drive-away or tent is much better value especially if you intend stopping at camp sites
  20. My advice is to remove the wheel and look for where the wheel is making contact, spacers can be helpful, but they can upset the geometry, you won't feel it when driving but could get abnormal tyre wear
  21. I don't know of any specific know-how of fitting Awning rails/ Awnings etc to Alphards ,Problem with the stick on PVC rail is where would you mount it, can't fit to the top edge as the passenger door would make contact with it, you're beginning to realise that Alphard's are a problem when one wants to add factor type parts mainly due its lack of history when customising. I haven't done my rail yet but hope to do so when the cold spell backs off, Im working on a design fitting for a fiamma wind out awning to fit via the roof channel -no rails just the awning
  22. Fitted several on VW's, there are ways to secure it within the roof channel you refer to .... caged nut and bolt but to fit snug within the 16.0 width , another is to bond the rail within the channel using polymer adhesive leave it to set overnight but be aware not in a cold as polymer adhesives don't like col😎d
  23. Looks to me from the angle of the photo that the panel could be stuck back on by using a POLYMER ADHESIVE IE: Silkaflex 521 or the 522 , Tec7, various others on the market these have been used in the caravan/motorhome repairs for years😎
