Using the Toyota GSIC, these diagrams are searchable, you can trace from component down to plugs.

I have a few dvds filled with Mp3s from many years ago that happily work, too -

about £350. From what I have seen on Facebook groups. You can buy something similar (if not identical) yourself and install for under £200. His price is not unreasonable, -

of you can't figure out, I will post some pics. if it's set up correctly, it should automatically start to copy the CD to the harddrive, a little symbol will appear in corner of the progress, once complete, you hit the HDD button to select album/track -

£3000? FFS. No no no no nope. please do not spend that amount of money, there are alphard specific systems you can buy for under £600, most plug and play. The only issue with most is non compatible with existing cameras, but of you only have a rear camera, then it is much cheaper to buy a 360degree system kit and this will feed into wherever head unit you fit, there are even 'tesla' style headunits for under £ 500. -
If anyone can provide an image of the Ben version firmware screen, or an image of the actual box that is fitted, I could probably pin down the exact model, I do not think the price he charges is unreasonable, given the time to install, and the risk of damage if you are not competent of your abilities, but also, this is not outside the realm of a user install, of you have some good dexterity, and a willingness to cut a few wires on the loom.

The kit I bought was about £160 from AliExpress. I took illumination power from the spare plug that is attached to the gear shift illumination. I took main power from the cigarette socket. I cut the handbrake signal and the speed signal feeds in to the head unit, and grounded the head unit wires, this allows the aux video input to remain live while car is in motion (it also unlocks other functions on head unit, like changing BT source, which I had to pull over and handbrake before, in order for wife to use connection for music) on the 20 series (my only real world reference) you can remove the screen quite easily, to fit the Flexi cable to the touchscreen, i routed this next to the existing Flexi, and out of the bottom of the unit to the switching PBA. In use, you select aux, and can use the provided button to switch your touchscreen to either the standard operation, or the new unit. Once you have carplay or android auto setup, it seems ok, I used Waze, sygic and google maps without issue. I used TuneIn radio too, no problem. Reverse cameras, and front side work as normal, at under 5mph, they cut in automatically as before, unless you turn off the auto mode. I will upload pics when I get chance. I would say that this unit is cheap, and I think Ben's units may be basically identical, although his appear to have a newer firmware. the resolution is low, probably 800x480 like on old satnavs, but usable. Calibration was a bit of a nightmare, but it is because the universal 4 pin wiring requires 2 of the wires to be swapped over, which I sorted with support from the seller. For me, I plan to use an older low power phone I have laying around to permanently connect and hide in the console so I can keep my regular phone in pocket. I tested the mirror function, this works fine, you can then play Netflix or YouTube etc through the screen(including rear), but because it's mirroring, you need to use the phones touchscreen of course.

Android Head Unit
Chris.ac replied to Voodoo101's topic in Toyota Alphard & Vellfire Club Forum (2008 - 2015)
The factory rear camera works on 6v, I believe; you can buy an adaptor that converts it to a standard phono connector which seems to be compatible with most aftermarket headunits. Alternatively, you need to connect via the parking assist ecu, which is responsible for taking the image from the camera, and superimposing the gridlines on it as a graphic, these guidelines move in relation to the steering wheel. Depending on your exact trim level, the connector may be a GVIF type, or be incorporated into one of the other factory plugs that go in to the headunit. For the reasons above, some people choose to replace the factory rear camera with a higher definition aftermarket one, or fit a 360 system. -
I fitted a 'Ben Hau' type system a couple of days ago, ordered it from aliexpress and fitted myself, Not sure if Identical, has the same little 'button' to switch the touchscreen input from original headunit functions to the addon box. would be nice to actually see the box that is fitted in Ben Hau's installation, and how he routed the flexi wire to the screen, I figured a way to do it, but still interested.

finally unblocked my sunroof drain, had to remove the drivers visor, the grab handles on roof, A pillar and B pillar, the A pillar trim, the B pillar trim, and was then able to disconnect the hose via the spring clip. Nice sun heated water poured out, no amount of feeding in a cable could unblock it. In the end, I attached a car tyre inflater, and carefully applied several bursts of pressure until Voila, a pool of water started to appear under the car and the drain holes in the sill were cleared. What a pain in the arse.

tyre pressure monitoring system
Chris.ac replied to Teekay's topic in Toyota Alphard & Vellfire Club Forum (2008 - 2015)
General public just not aware, and fleet/HP cars will often have some stipulation in the agreement that everything is dealer repaired. Most people will not realise you can just get your tyre fitter to insert these TPMS valves for you. -
the rear central jack point is an extrusion near the spare wheel carrier, marked with the round crosshatch in diagram.

tyre pressure monitoring system
Chris.ac replied to Teekay's topic in Toyota Alphard & Vellfire Club Forum (2008 - 2015)
for the 20 series, you can fit a 'basic' 'pressure monitoring' that instead of measuring pressure, uses the ABS data (rotational speed) of all 4 wheels, when a tyre pressure reduces by an amount, the delta value between that wheels rotational speed vs the other 3 will trigger an alarm. The system entirely fits into a blank switch panel and connects to the OBD2 port. I have not personally fitted one, but came across it and put it on my 'want' list. Alternatively, of course, you could buy either the dust cap fitting types or the proper internal sensors, which are far more accurate and will also give an indication of tyre temperature too. links (not advising or promoting - just to illustrate the two types) https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32649802675.html - this is proper system that uses sensors on each wheel https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002212205489.html - this one uses the ABS data to give a general warning of tyre pressure loss (mentions 2011 series 20, so perhaps this data is not available in earlier models?) -
adding adaptive cruise control
Chris.ac replied to Edmxrs's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
yep, you'd be right there. It's certainly not trivial, the loom would need to be the right one, as many canbus data connections are needed, even the brake actuator needs adding etc, its really not a DIY job with something so safety critical. -
i replaced mine with a torch that fits nice and snug

adding adaptive cruise control
Chris.ac replied to Edmxrs's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
i think the adaptive cruise also comes with the lane keep assist? You need the emitter, the ecu, the upgraded stalk, steering control button, the LKA camera module, I think you would need to spend in excess of £1000 for the parts, and then fingers crossed the right look is fitted -
