  1. Has to be straight jackets, as otherwise they'd use thier bloody stumps to do it, and get blood everywhere! I have had the the rear seats and the middle row out though, rears are a little faffy to reinstall, but not to bad overall.
  2. I did this, I brought a little box gizmo that you wire into the door electrics, and the mirrors fold when you press lock the doors, but I think you could wire them to lock on any other signal you wanted. Think I posted about it somewhere, but too many forums so who knows. I brought some of the Toyota connector pins, and re pinned some slots to take the additional wires and do a tidy job.
  3. That's a pretty good idea, thanks! I would prefer if though if the kids couldn't mess about with the lights and leave them on.
  4. Hi, I haven't got around to it yet unfortunately, but its on my (very long) to-do list. I did buy the additional `tailgate` lights months ago - haven't fitted them yet either!
  5. Good to know about AMAYAMA, thanks. It is a little round switch on the shroud, will take some pics of all this `interesting` stuff soon. I ripped out a speed trap radar detector that was on the dash as it went off and said something Japanese any time you went past any lights that had traffic sensing. Next on my priority list is the reversing beep, I know I am in reverse because I am going backwards.
  6. So It turns out I totally missed my boot courtesy light, its on the offside on my Vellfire and not very bright, it is triggered by the boot and turns off when it is shut, as long as it is switched on. It gives me some more wiring to tap into if I need it.
  7. Thanks for the heads up, I have brought some from aliexpress.
  8. Humm, I'm not sure to be honest. I haven't noticed warm white ones, just the stupid blue things which are round and in the sides of the footwell trim, there is a small on off button under the steering wheel trim, although it doesn't seem to be all off when its off.... Maybe they have swapped the standard ones for blue, but not hopeful. Hopefully over Christmas I will have the time to look around the beast properly, and read the manual. I didn't realise there was an indicator stalk with fogs on, that's a good shout, mine had a generic fog switch fitted to one of the blanks, I ordered a proper fit fog switch for the blank, but haven't fitted it yet. As it seems like I might be popping a fair bit of trim for this and that, I have put a set of trim removal tools on my Xmas list have a tow bar to fit before I go LPG and I want to swap the 100v stuff for something useful. I cant remember how my fog light has been done, it works, and nothing horrific externally to see, but I appreciate the info. I do hope they haven't drilled into the back of a reflector.
  9. Mine looks like yours, shines Vellfire though, as the trim is a `clip over` affair I assumed it was aftermarket. My door cards have holes drilled in the underside of the door pockets which you cant easily see unless lying on the ground - where the puddle lights are installed, and then there is a hole in the side of each font door pocket for some led strip lights to light up the door pocket when the door is open which is not really my thing, my biggest bugbear is that they drilled a massive hole just to fit the plug on the end of the cable through, when the cable itself is miniscule. I have the drivers door card off at the moment to fit a Mirror folding module (a right PITA finding the Toyota plug pins to fit so I can do a neat job) and I am very tempted to to strip out the aftermarket lights. There are more lights in the footwells etc as well so I would have to use blind Grommets GrommetsGrommets to close off the holes, or perhaps I will strip the fancy electronics out and just fit some practical white LED's.
  10. Thanks for that, it would be useful where I park, as it is pretty much pitch black, I will check out ones for series 20. If that is normal behaviour, I find it a bit odd, along with the dip stick for washer fluid.... I don't recall ever having owned a car that didn't have a dash light for that. Maybe it's a Japanese thing as the missus has a Qashqai, it has 360 cameras, lane depart, auto lights, high beam, wipers, and other gadgets, yet it cant tell you when the washer fluid is low. I might just connect them up to the middle lights if that is possible as it seems a bit daft they don't come on at the same time.
  11. I don't think My Vellfire has that. - Will have to have a doublecheck in the morning, normally I am all over everything when I get a new vehicle, but have been busy so a bit scattershot since I got this.
  12. Hi, When I open the doors or boot on my Series 20, (Vellfire) the map lights for the front and middle row seats come on, but not the rear map lights, they work if you turn them on with the button, but then when you close the doors they stay on while the other lights go out. Is that what are they supposed to do? Now its dark pretty much all the time, I have to use a torch to see what's in the boot.
  13. I have a 2010 Vellfire, and have this on my passenger side, I had assumed it was aftermarket as someone has butchered the front door pockets to fit lights to the pocket, and blue puddle lights... Why de-pin 2 cables, and drill a 3mm hole when you can drill a 20mm one?!
