  1. Fantastic stuff mate thanks for your update! Can I kindly ask you roughly the cost of it? I got my problem sorted by changing the inverter ( forgot to put down an update, no lights, car running well enough but still think the battery is not top notch as it discharge quickly and takes ages to recharge, something I didn't experience when I bought the car) but still interested in having a look at the battery cells.. Around London people want upwards of a grant so pretty expensive since my one been running okayish Cheerio and many thanks to all the folks that are always happy to share some knowledge! Gabs
  2. Hello mate.. I've just realised my mechanic appointment is only next Tuesday, got the days wrong! Unfortunately I have no idea hows the inverter I bought, the mechanic that sold it to me said it was from a running car, but yeah my car is also running but just not really well.. I've opened it yday and it seems in pristine condition inside Where's the pump located? I've noticed the car is constantly making a noise as if there's something trying to switch on ( almost like one of those boat engines that you pull the cord trigger to start) And is the radiator the main one? Or do the inverter has its own? I've had to change my radiator not long ago as there was a leak, so it did stay quite dry for some periods (although I was always topping it up) , thinking now that it might well be something related to it, as you said, something might have cooked inside Follows shot of freeze frame Cheers
  3. Hello Darek Thank you very much for taking the time and all the explanation mate Can't pull the code unfortunately, but freeze frame shows P312563 Not sure if the 63 stands for the subcode? I've just managed to find a second hand inverter online for 500 quid so I've decided to just try my luck on that Will take it to my local mechanic tomorrow to get it changed and will post the results here..
  4. That's great news Darek! Thanks for the update! Could you please let me know where did you manage to find the specific part? And also, I'm always afraid of touching the inverter given all the high voltage warning, would you also give any advice on that? Thank you very much indeed mate
  5. That's great Rojie many thanks, just ordered one on eBay, only a tenner so defo worth a try! Cheers
  6. Good morning Bill.. great find mate! The hybrid inverter and pump are sitting between the two front seats correct? Would really appreciate some pictures (if it's not too much to ask) so I can try finding it here too.. fingers crossed that's what causing the issues.. By the way my code reader arrived and is of no use unfortunately, doesn't read a thing! Some ideas, https://www.fixmycar.pk/toyota-alphard-hybrid-e-four-2/
  7. Hi Bill, have you noticed if the small fan in front of the inverter is constantly on? Mine doesn't seem to spin, I'm not driving long distances tho.. Also don't know if it's worth mentioning I've always had a clicking noise coming from what I believe to be Aircon relay (attachment) and it has stopped just recently.. probably not connected? Engine cut off again today, been wondering if I should be driving it? Hopefully is not causing any further damage right ? Cheers Good luck everyone!
  8. I've had some issues couple of months ago where I was driving on the motorway doing a turn and the vsc was beeping once in a while.. Interesting you say that as another member of the forum (with similar problems) have mentioned he has spoken to someone in Japan who said the inverter cooling pump is common issue and he managed to order it from Japan.. I'll post here once I've got some news from him.. It would be a bummer if its the inverter as a brand new one is over 4k, found a garage that puts a second hand for 1350 but that's still painful given we are not entirely sure that's the issue.. I'm waiting for a code reader I bought to arrive, its meant to be for Japanese cars so fingers crossed it can actually find the right codes! Let's keep in touch guys.. Many thanks
  9. Hello Bill.. It seems like a common issue, so many of us with this! Have you managed to find any fault codes? Hopefully someone will find the solution and post here.. Been told its something to do with the inverter or hybrid battery.. Is your AC100V button working? What about cruise control does it hold a required speed setting? Windows working? BTW does anyone have a clue how to test the hybrid inverter? I think I've seen it last time I opened the panel between the front seats! Good luck everyone
  10. So we got brake lights, vehicle stability control and that red car is hybrid system light right? I've just ordered a code reader (Ancel JP700) apparently specifically for Japanese cars, will post here how it goes.. Fingers crossed Isn't the techstream what my garage probably used? If the code reader I bought doesn't work will try that! Thanks Rojie
  11. Cheers bud, just dropped him a message about the obd.. In regards to the footbrake my light is red and on the left side of the dash, didn't include that in my shot.. those 3 lights are on all the time whilst I'm driving.. And the noise coming from the engine bay was a different noise, rather loud and rattling whilst I was trying to fire up the engine.. that didn't happen anymore, it was just the start of my problems! I know the noise you mean from the book, it's rather low and "electronic like".. not related to it.. Thanks for your help mate, any ideas are greatly appreciated! Gonna go through all my fuses today to see if I find something there.. you never know
  12. Hello Rojie Real bummer as I absolutely love my alphie, but as I use it for work been really stressed lately, afraid it might let me down any time.. I've called the Toyota mainline and they wouldn't book me in because it's a import, should I just drive in and try my luck that way? Both my local Toyota "specialist" and the AA couldn't really get hold of the codes, would you suggest a code reader that actually works with the alphie boy? Thanks for your time mate
  13. Thanks for you reply, I've tried with a Toyota "specialist" near me which couldn't find the problem, also tried with a hybrid specialist which wasn't too sure about what's wrong either . Would you recommend anyone near or around London? many thanks
  14. Just called Toyota to try and book diagnostics but they said they don't deal with imports!? What?! I mean, its a Toyota ffs...
  15. Wow only noticed so many people with same problem! Has anyone found out the issue? Going to top up my tyres now just in case!
