Need to source drive shaft
Thanks for this - pricey at £512. Am I right in thinking that the £512 gets you the genuine Toyota full assembly - shaft, joint etc etc, whilst the alternative ones are just the joint ? ( that’s what it looks like from the pictures & diagrams)

Need to source drive shaft
Hi My 2005 2.4l Alphard needs a replacement near-side front drive shaft. I have the part number (4342028030) but haven’t been able to find one yet. Any suggestions, signposts or ideas as to where I might get one would be appreciated. Thanks

Awning
Hi Pritch Calders also fitted a 180 cm rail to our Alphard, but have now agreed - partly after I had spoken to them about your posts here - to fit the 220 cm one. Nevertheless, in shopping for an awning online, I am having difficulty in finding one where the “tunnel” attachment part is smaller than 260 cm. Was this your experience ? - were you able to source an awning to fit the 220 cm rail, or does it not matter that the awning exceeds the length of the rail by a small amount ? Any advice on this you can offer would be gratefully received.

Any Alphard Owners in Aberdeen area
Hi We are in Alford. Just bought our Alphard (2005 2.4l), conversion by Calder Campers in Livingston. One successful trip to Grantown so far.

Steering wheel volume controls
Many thanks for that. From the eBay ad it appears that the same one would probably do for my Pioneer unit, albeit with a 3.5mm jack connector rather than a single wire for your Kenwood. However, not sure if my level of expertise is sufficient to take on the job myself - is it something someone with very limited experience with auto audio should be taking on ?

Steering wheel volume controls
Hi. Recently acquired 2005 2.4l Alphard, with camper van conversion by Calder Campers nr. Livingston, W. Lothian. As part of the conversion, they have fitted a Pioneer SPH-DA160DAB head unit, which is fine as it allows me to connect my phone, stream playlists, connect android auto as well as play the usual range of FM or DAB radio stations. However, I have been informed that it is not possible to connect the unit in a way that ensures that the steering wheel volume controls are functional. This struck me as a bit strange as it has been possible to connect in such a way that the rear reversing camera works. Can anyone advise whether it is actually possible to get the steering wheel volume controls to work ?

Camper van newbies
Hi. Took delivery of 2.4l 2005 Alphard camper van conversion just before Christmas. Looking forward to many trips around the UK from our Aberdeenshire base, and popping in here every now and then to learn more about our vehicle from the expertise and experience available across the forum.
