Chung Hau who goes by the name Ben Alphard sells the door motors (the little ones that release the door) I paid £30 each a few years ago. His contact information is attached.

I replaced mine with an Apple TV 4 which I wired up to run on 12 volts. Used an HDMI adapter to get back to Component and it runs like a treat.

My guess is they either relate to: Electronic Toll Collection System or Analogue TV Tuner

This is correct - if the seat is not clipped firmly down into the runner it will not slide. If in doubt unclip the seat, lift it and press it down firmly again to clip it into its runner.

I agree Snows in Exeter/Plymouth are much more helpful than Parklands in Cornwall. Another option would be to try Gary Thomas at GT Motors in Newton Abbott - he is great with Toyota Estima imports.

I would be keen to attend a meet in Cornwall if others were interested - I have good links with The Eden Project and could easily organise a car park for us to use.

I would agree that it is the handbrake override to allow the video in motion. I have similar on my bus.

On my vehicle the lock key, press and hold, rolls all windows up (until you release the lock key - at which point the windows stop) Press and hold the unlock key and all windows roll down (until you release the unlock button) There is a procedure to reset the remote central locking which you can do after a battery disconnection, when one of the door locks does not operate. There is also one to reset the electric windows when one does not work from the drivers control panel. Is it worth trying these reset procedures? It could be that it solves it?

It’s okay, I really thought I had made an error but I have been through it again and it looks likely to be correct. This time around will be more interesting as the driving is much more like for like this time. I have also stuck in some Wynn’s Gold Total Petrol System Cleaner which seems to get very favourable reviews. It would be interesting to see how high we can get the MPG by tweaking everything. At the end of the day it is still going to be thirsty.

I was as surprised as you are. Method was: I collected the vehicle from seller on 12th April and filled the tank from empty to the brim with the supreme fuel which cost me £107 Approx. I recorded the mileage (km) at the filling station. When the tank was between a third and a half full I topped it up (to the brim again) with 33.2 litres of the low grade fuel. (The km had gone up by 268km) Therefore indicating I had used 33.2 litres of the E5 since filling up the first time. I then used the second batch of fuel (which would have been a mix of the two - roughly 60% E10 to 40% E5) I then filled up the vehicle a third time, this time when the light came on the vehicle took 60.9 litres to refill and I had driven a further 272km since fill up number 2. I was very surprised by the results, I did use the air con slightly more in the second period and I was driving more frequent short journeys as opposed to the first time. I drive minibuses frequently as part of my job and have been trained to be very light footed on the gas/brakes. My style of driving could be described as a snail on Valium. This being said I really noticed the difference between the two fuels, the vehicle purred and drove beautifully on the supreme, it felt like acceleration was slightly more erratic and the engine felt like it wasn’t as smooth on the E10. I have now refuelled with E5 and will repeat the process. I am unsure if Esso in Cornwall sell 97 Octane or 99 Octane fuel but whatever it was it ran beautifully. This third time I filled up with 97 Octane E5 from Texaco. Unfortunately the closest Esso from where I live is 25 miles away. I will definitely fill up there again if I am in that area though.

Yes this was Esso Supreme fuel. Texaco regular fuel. Have now filled the tank with Texaco supreme and will report back results.

I found this under the passenger seat which is the old TV Tuner for the Head Unit which is still present in my Alphard... It got me thinking, what if I reuse the inputs for something else? I have rewired an Apple TV (4th Gen) to run on 12 Volts and will output it through an HDMI converter back to the existing head-unit from the Red/White/Yellow cable under the passenger seat. During testing this worked with an external 12 volt supply to the Apple TV. The next step was to draw power from the vehicle, so I repurposed the power from the Clarion unit by using an ATX power supply extender and splicing the cables. Unfortunately during testing I have tripped a fuse, as I have lost power to this feed and I'm damned if I can find it. The power was coming from a cable under the passenger seat and was originally supplying this Clarion TV Unit. I believe in some Alphards with the Theatre Sound there is also an Amp located in this area. Obviously if I need to pull 12 volts from the centre console that is an option but it would make sense to find and replace the fuse feeding this cable. Does anyone know the likely location and value of the fuse I should be looking for? Any help would be much appreciated. The location of the micro fuses on the passenger side of the cab is obviously some kind of sick joke.

Supreme Unleaded - 33.2 Litres to travel 268 KM 8.07KM (5.01 Miles) / 1 Litre 0.12 Litres / 1 KM 0.2 Litres / 1 Mile (£0.35/mile at £1.759 Litre) Regular Unleaded - 60.9 Litres to travel 272 KM 4.47KM (2.78 Miles) / 1 Litre 0.22 Litres / 1 KM 0.36 Litres / 1 Mile (£0.58/mile at £1.619 Litre) This was in a 2.4 Litre 2004 Alphard. Huge saving using the Supreme Unleaded over regular.
