Do you need to top up the radiator? On mine I could only make out the level looking from the offside, though my reservoir may well be muckier than yours. If it stands around a lot then condensation may be the issue.

Hi Gamith, my daughter has just come back of holiday in scotland and it was then she relized it was using a significant amount of water, it had always been fine untill that trip. At weekend I am going to give it a leakdown test, pressure test , and a coolant pressure test, hopefully that will find the problem.

    Kind regards,

    Bob.

  2. Thank you for the reply.

Had a look at my daughters 2.4 alphard, I think it is the head gasket blown but can't be certain, it doesn't over heat but does lose water with no obvious leaks , no frothing on oil cap but does appear to be blowing slightly white smoke out of the exhaust but no power loss .

A mechanic has told her to try some steel seal in it first , not really expecting great results but it does state guaranteed permanent repair or money back , I will let you know how it performs.

Keep up the good work you are doing  brilliantly.  👍

    Kind regards,

    Bob.

  3. Hi crazymac680 , brilliant job I must say unfortunately I am going to have to tackle the same job on my daughters alpha 2.4l 2006, I have worked on cars alot and feel confident on the job a bit concerned on the amount of siezed bolts you had to deal with on you job. I am just wondering if you have managed to get a workshop manual as I find it difficult to find one mainly for all the torque settings.

    Kind regards,

    Bob.

  4. Hi just removed all mine I think they are all the same on all models.

After removing seats remove the plastic end caps on the runners then remove the carpets the plastic guides along the runners just pull of, at the side of the runners there a some bolts evenly spaced out not sure but are about 8mm I managed to remove them without removing all the sound proofing.

at one end on each track there is a small bolt located in the rail that holds the steel end cap on, the runner then can be removed by just sliding it out.

    Have fun.!!

  5. Hi Joking,

We had a similar problem with our front bumper it was the same clips that you are showing in the photo, we ordered ours from the toyota main dealer took about a weak to arrive and cost appropriately £70 for the pair .

Just hope your tags are still OK on the actual bumper.

    Hello Monksey

Quick question, from the photographs I see the overhead air ducting routing around the roof line to four overhead vents but cannot see where it rises up. Do you have another picture showing where it rises from? I want to fit a warm air heater and connect it to these overhead vents so I am trying to understand where I can connect it.

Hi Beijing Ballie, sorry I don't have any more photos and unfortunately it was quite some time ago when I stripped out the head liner and didn't take much notice of where the ducting came down.

  7. Hi mikli,

The mood lighting in the pillars are led units not bulbs and unlikely to be blown, to remove the piller you first remove the bottom trim because the piller has to be pulled towards you then pulled down or you will snap the plastic clips.

The room lights in the headliner can easily be removed and these do have bulbs, are you sure it's not just a blown fuse as all these lights are on the same fuse.

  8. Hi mikli,

That is the correct part to pull off but you may require a small pick ,once removed you might find it's not bulbs as you are expecting as mine are led strips but that  could just be on different models, if you do require to remove the whole console the hidden screws are under the light strips and I think there is one in the glasses department.
