Can you tell me which version of techstream you use?  It is good news that you found a version of techstream that has full readings for the Alphard hybrid.  It might be visible under the menu: Help > About

*EDIT* I see that you are using version Ver 14.30.023 - 21084 from your screenshots.

I am going to purchase the same washinglee lead.

    Cheers,

    Mark

    Hi Mark,

I used version 14, you can download it within the virtual pc in the link I posted above to the ih8mud forum link.

    Good luck

Just changed all 4 tyres on my 3.0 AWD - cost £480 incl VAT. Went for Hankook 205/65 R16 107T. As I have had the full side conversion with pop-top I went for the higher load and speed rating. The originals were rated 95Q and the ride is definitely much firmer/tighter.

    Thanks  Arthur.

I’ve just put 205/65/ R16 107T Continentals on ours for the same reasons as you, full conversion etc.

Defenately firmer ride, but feel much more confident with van tyres on with the loading.
Also running 40psi which real has really helped with mpg.

Thanks Liz and all for your input. I have been using Peter Holland of Bright Spark Automotive. He tells me that he does not have and cannot source any of the parts he needs to repair my Inverter. He enquired to replace the whole Inverter from Japan and including VAT and shipping it was to be £5,200.23p. Bloody expensive, I know, but I have taken a bank loan out to pay for it and then I should get many happy years of motoring without a breakdown ( fingers crossed ). It will take 10 days to come over and I will report back progress. Am I doing the right thing.

    Hi Michael,

If your specialist know what part in the inverter is faulty, you can get the separate internal parts for the inverter.
    Have a look here:

Hi Adam; I have alphard hybrid 2005 and I am a gadget warrior 😁  if you have had other OBD's in your phone or device make sure the app is looking at the right one. Plug your OBD in and put vehicle in on mode without starting engine then start app. That's what I did to get it to connect.

That’s fabulous- I’ll give that a go- thanks!

I have been in touch with Jack from the Prius app, and he was keen to help find a way of connecting. Suggested I downloaded another app to work out the obd2 commands.
Havent had a chance to do it yet though!

  5. Thought I’d give you all an update.

I ended up getting my local Toyota dealer, Steven Eagell, to do the job. They replace the belt, new tensioner and the water pump as it was leaking.

Sounds so much smoother, but there is still a squeal occasionally on startup from cold.

I think it might be the idler bearing / pulley.
It’s booked in on Friday to take a look.

They also changed all the coolant and gearbox and mgr fluid as who knows when that was last done!

Having watched Wheeler Dealers and Car SOS for some years I am always amazed how they always find some specialist workshop- usually one man and a shed- that will repair almost anything obscure- If this is a pump then can this not be repaired by  a specialist if one can be found?- that's the hard bit.

Hi Paul, I expect so, somewhere! The key is as you say finding them 🙂

    Hello Adam

You've done some good research. There are numerous choices, which one is right. I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and strip it down some time.

I decided to strip down the mirror assembly today.

Here's a few pictures. It motor unit certainly wasn't designed to come apart - the top cap was glued on! Made a bit of a mess of the plastic casing.

All cogs were fine, but the electric motor wasn't very free. I flushed it through with WD 40.

Once I put it all back together and plugged it in, the folding mirror moved slightly then stopped, almost like it was jambing or the motor wasn't up to the job.

Oh well, I 'might' see if I can get a replacement motor or I will just order a new mechanism....

    Worth a shot 🙂

Hello. I have this problem as well but with the passenger side. The fact that you can hear the motor working indicates that the fault is in the motor mechanism. I found a video on YouTube that showed a broken plastic cog in the mechanism. My local Alphard experts, Funky Ram, at Avonmouth, said they could get a mirror from Toyota with the right mechanism and cannibalise it. This would cost just under £200, but with fitting this would be near £400. I don't think you can just source the relevant cog. I wish I knew which mirror would have the right bits in.

I wonder if anyone else has successfully cured this problem?

    Myron

    Hi Myron,

I think my issue is mechanical too, probably a broken cog.

You can buy the motor assembly but it's £60-£90 plus delivery from Japan.

    https://www.amayama.com/en/catalogs/toyota/alphard/1-van-3-right-h10-2005-r-3124/electrics-4/mirror-394

I'm going to remove the mirror and hopefully remove broken cog. There seems to be repair kits for other vehicles which replacement cogs are in metal.

Seems such a waste to replace a whole unit when it's just a small cog!

Hi guys n gals would appreciate any input on this one b4 I splash out on a new wing mirror

I've got a 2003 2.4 Gspec when I press the button to fold in the mirrors only the passenger side folds in there is power to the drivers side as you can adjust the mirror would it be a complete wing mirror replacement or can you buy the motor or is it just not worth the hassle going down the motor route

    Thanks matt

    Hello Matt,

Old post, but did you find a solution?

I have the same issue. Can hear the motor working for a small time.

    Thanks Adam
