  1. Ben Hau in the Facebook Alphard Owners club would likely give you a quote even if you don’t live near Birmingham- 1500 sounds like added headroom to ensure they cover themselves
  2. Yep I’d prefer a replacement head in mine with better radio, higher res screen though OP is running a hybrid of which I don’t believe replacement heads offer the full hybrid screen informations Ie, live charging status, live power deployment, economy chart information It’s not vital to have the hybrid information but its not something hybrid owners usually seek to lose Happy to learn of a system that can achieve the factory hybrid information though
  3. Car play also plays ones music & playlists on one's iphone, all accessed via the head touchscreen
  4. I took the route of adding Apple Car play to the existing head unit - it retains all the original hybrid info, cameras etc but offers a touchscreen Apple car play on the head's TV button that runs from one's iphone - includes google maps, apple maps, waze sat nav, bbc sounds, apple music, messages, phone etc etc - enough for what i need and about GBP250 to get it supplied & fitted
  5. Can it be unplugged at the motor side? not knowing for certain though I’d imagine the motor is common so thoughts to verify a replacement & get it fitted in next few days?
  6. I did read of someone recently disconnecting the standard battery and it cleared a fault code which helped driving for longer to get home (but not necessarily solving the reason why it’s started)
  7. I recently changed the defective & worn tracking disc in my 2006 heater flap solenoid motor i used a donor part from an Avensis part number AE063700-8610 (off eBay) for £20 Here’s a YouTube video I’ve put together of how I went about changing it IMG_3216.MOV https://youtu.be/kJ7BxXJUBZI
  8. I only bought mine 3 weeks ago with recon batteries fitted. We've just clocked 3000km now whilst on vacation in Europe, been on a mission trying to learn to achieve economy noting the mileage planned & costs. 15.5L on outward journey from UK & 14.1L currently popping here n there for the last 1000 or so km's, but super smooth driving and i agree the battery doesn't add that much though i hardly add power uphill motorways, rather let the speed drop from say 60 - 50mph, but then charge the battery to 4 bars often down hill to create ready power. Have to check but sure i've used battery + fuel combined on occasion over 20mph. I usually seek to pull away on battery where available & slowly let speed build
  9. 3rd power socket on left rear low down near floor beside the seat/rear luggage. Totals 3 x 1500w 100v sockets when adding the rear & front of console
  10. Update for anyone reading - i'm averaging 43.5mpg using a Hybrid 2.4 (06 plate) heavily loaded family of 4 trip driving around 60mph on motorways (15.5km/L) Driving more locally with 7 - 8 passengers nearer 38 - 41mpg driving cautiously
  11. Mine states 1500w on the flap of each of the 3 sockets (one in the rear). Mine's a Hybrid model so perhaps why higher rated. We run a 80w coolbox and 2 x DVD players constantly. I ran a 200w coffee bean grinder also no problem
