  1. I believe they have removed the axle but need a specialist adaptor for their own tool - I guess they must only have to use Toyota tools to “guarantee” the work
  2. Many thanks - I will let the Toyota garage know - although they seemed to be a bit put out when I said I would do a bit of research to help them!!

  4. Hi- I am having to get the rear bushes replaced and have taken it in to my local Toyota garage to get this done. They have advised me that the work requires a specialist tool to get the bushes fitted and they are searching everywhere to source the tool. This has now taken 2 days. Does anyone know where the specialist tool can be sourced?
  5. Hi - thanks for replies. Yes, I found the fuse box in the end. The problem was not the fuse. Apparently after market wing mirrors had been fitted in Japan before vehicle was imported and had never been connected because the plug was not the correct one to fit into the wiring loom. I contacted the company I purchased the vehicle from and asked how it had passed the MOT last March when the side indicators didn’t work? They agreed to pay for ann auto electrition to fix and for MOT retest. So now got it through the MOT but still no electric mirrors as the electrician could not suss out which wires worked all the movements.
  6. I have checked regs for this and since 1986 all vehicles must have side indicators or indicators fitted into the wing mirrors except if the front indicators can be seen from the side - such as a wrap around lens at the front. any help re the fuses would help.
  7. Hi- My 2008 Alphard camper has just failed its MoT due to the indicator lights on both side mirrors not working. We purchased the vehicle in august and I don't think the electric mirrors have ever worked- not that that was a problem as they were perfectly adequate due to the size of them anyway. Now that the vehicle has failed its MoT I really want to get this fixed. Thinking it could just be a fuse - is it likely to be the same fuse for the electric mirrors and indicator lights on them? I have looked in the drivers side fuse box but it looks nothing like the layout diagram for that fuse box - any help at all would be appreciated.
  8. Hi Rob I have a 2008 model purchased in Aug last year and am in Essex too- the radio unit was the original in Japanese only so got it replaced - went to Audifile Incar in Bishops Stortford and got an ALPINE unit - they fitted it expertly to work with all steering wheel controls and rear camera too. Not cheap but in my opinion well worth it - got Apple carplay etc too. Happy to let you have a look if near Braintree area - let me know Paul
  9. Hi - thanks - i have tried already and it cannot be changed to English- so i need a replecement unit fitted.
  10. Hi - it is a 20 series
  11. Hi John I have just purchased an Alphard series 2.0 campervan - late 2008 with an alpine 8" screen unit - obviously all in Japanese so need to replace it. I am in Essex so not far away - the Kenwood unit looks great and ideal for me - does it work with the reversing camera as well? Would it be possible to view your unit at a convenient time? Thanks - Paul
