Is your alternator a 3 or 4 pin plug ? I have a brand new one in the garage (3 pin connector) sent to me in error and never returned it ! Mine was a 4 pin connector. It was £180, so could save you a few quid ? 😉

Just a quick update for this post, I managed to cross reference the part numbers for the steering pump and the avensis pump for £78 is the same pump! Fitted it a few weeks ago now, perfect. Certainly worth doing a bit of digging on the web, saved me £140 ! 

Used Holt's headlight cleaning kit, worked a treat, 3 grades of sandpaper, headlight compound and sealer spray, although I bought a proper headlight spray lacquer, the Holt's one isn't permanent so has to be put on after you wash the car, it feels a bit like dash shine...... Greasy.

Can I fit a steering pump from avensis, verso, previa, etc to my 2.4 Alphard?

Seems that when you mention the word Alphard, the price doubles ! £225 from a jap spares place £78 on eBay for an avensis !

I'm assuming the 2.0 & the 2.4 petrol engine use the same pump. It's just a standard 4 pot engine so any advice would be great. Thanks.

It's a 'stick on top' replacement, however I removed old glass and with a little silicone was fitted into original plastic holder. 

It's aftermarket, so not completely identical, maybe 2mm smaller (hence the few dobbs of silicone) than original but you would never notice.

Replacement glass arrived from ebay, £10 previa/estima glass fits just fine.

Are the previa ones the same ?

Currently getting eml and code p 0171 system too lean bank 1, gonna check vacuum hoses etc, maf, o² sensors.

Only get the light coming on after 30 mins of driving..... doesn't happen all the time !

And yes..... the reader port is above the handbrake pedal, under the dash.

Not had mine done yet, but mean to get it done over the next few weeks. Full touch screen, bluetooth, google maps, etc without losing any original vehicle features.... cameras, hard drive, theatre surround blah blah. I believe it functions through the video port on the head unit. With a little software box canbus unit. Only trouble for me is the 4 hour drive to Birmingham! They do sell a DIY version that you fit yourself but touch screen doesn't work, you get a wired joystick controller..... £230 I think, personally I want the touch screen mod.

Check out "uk alphard shop" on Facebook, for a retro fit android/apple play system, fitted to the original head unit. £350. Birmingham, 2 hour job.

If power from the battery has been interrupted (disconnected) you'll have to operate each window from the corresponding door, all the way down then back up, before drivers door controls will work again.

Just insured our 2.4 alphard with adrian flux, fully comp with all the trimmings £550, it's in the wife's name 7 yrs ncd, she's 38.

Just bought one from Andy myself ! Seems like a decent guy. 2.4 has a chain, 3.0 has a belt. Think maybe the 3.0 would be better as a camper coz of extra weight. Although the belt interval is 60k.

Already posted this in new members forum, worth a look, several conversion units to allow all standard functionality with an aftermarket head unit

A few add-ons to buy, but it can be done, theatre surround, front and rear cameras, etc for an aftermarket android stereo !

I'm sure they're not cheap, but might as well have it all singing and dancing in english !

Currently buying an alphard, test driven & deposit paid today ! From andys autos near norwich. Seems like a genuine nice guy, very helpful. Deals mainly in camper conversions. So far so good. Now waiting for v5 to be sorted, he says about 2 weeks to get a reg..... then begins my audio, camera (front & rear) and theatre sound issues when I change the unit !

Those units you've listed, could you confirm that they keep all steering wheel and camera function?

Hello, just placed a deposit on a fresh arrival from Japan, took it for a test drive today, loved it straight away. Went for the 2.4, 2006 .... 64k on the clock. My only concern is the onboard head unit being mostly in Japanese with gps useless. I'm told if I change it for an android unit I cant then use the cameras or theatre surround system.

Any info would be gratefully recieved.
