It’s not available separate new without buying ignition barrel  the unit you broke is the immobiliser amplifier so I think if your buying a 2nd hand one it will need programming to the vehicle

Ah bum! How much is a new barrel?

would soldering the broken cables work?

  2. So when I took my steering apart last night, this part fell out and fell apart. It was all broken. Put the car back together and it doesn't start. The red car/key light is constantly flashing, so assume it's immobilised

There's a tiny copper wire that comes off the circuit board and wraps around the inside of the clear plastic bit, that's broken.

Weirdly I don't think the imobiliser has ever worked (never seen the flashing light 'til this morning). Could unplugging the ignition cable have turned it on somehow?

Does anyone know if that part can just be replaced? It wouldn't need coding in or anything? (so it'll work with my imobilliser, rather than the original car it'll have come off)

    Thanks

    Hello John,

    Welcome to the Forum.

    Hi,

thanks. Didn’t realise this was my 1st post, been on here a while. Turns out I’ve somehow locked the immobiliser, it won’t turn off after putting the key in.

the ring round the key hole fell apart when I took the trim off. There’s a small circuit board with the green led. Is that immobiliser related? Looks like 2 connections are broken.

weirdly I don’t think the immobiliser has ever worked, never seen the flashing key light on the dash.

is there a way to sort it?
