  1. I have a 20 series Alphard, 3.5 The Speedo is converted to read miles per hour and the trip computer still displays km/l but it's actually miles/litre. This threw me for a couple of days before I realised what was going on! On your experience of fuel economy, I'm no expert on hybrids but I don't think long motorway drives (which I'm assuming was the basis for your calculations, I may be wrong!) are where you get the benefit of a hybrid system as you'll likely use up the stored battery energy fairly quickly, don't replenish it through braking etc. and you're then just carrying all the extra weight of the system around with you. I recently used a new Volvo XC60 diesel hybrid for a couple of days and drove 285 miles on the motorway. The trip computer told me I averaged 45mpg which I thought was absolutely rubbish! My dad's 1993 VW Passat 1.9 TDI would've beaten that!
  2. Hi all, does anyone else find the auto wipers a bit daft? For example: 1. On starting the car with a wet windscreen, they don't wipe until you manually tell them to, even if they're already in auto mode. 2. Sometimes they just randomly start intermittently wiping a dry screen?! I guess they generally work "ok" but they just seem to be a bit silly! Is this common experience or does it suggest a fault with a sensor?
  3. Hi all, does anyone know if you "shuffle all songs" stored in the HDD? I know you can shuffle within each saved album, but I quite like shuffling across all my albums to get a good variety. I've had a really good fiddle with all the menus but can't seem to find that function. Just wondering if anyone knows if it actually exists or if I'm wishing on a star?!
  4. This is brilliant work, thank you so much! I ended up getting some cheap ones at the right size but I kept the original frames for future use of such a kind, well informed person was to supply the information on the rubber inserts!
  5. Just a thought, in mine I have the two 100v sockets but they're controlled by a switch down by the right hand side of the steering wheel. Wondering whether the wiring is all there just waiting to be switched behind the blank where the 100v switch would be?
  6. Sorry I've just seen your other post with the pics on!
  7. Hi all, does anyone have any recommendations for wheels that look a bit more "purposeful" for my alphard? I'm not looking for a anything crazy, I just think the stock wheels look a bit frumpy. Preferably there'd be a Toyota wheel that fits and looks a bit better e.g. I used to have an elgrand and fitted qashqai wheels that looked a lot better (in my opinion). Wouldn't want to go above 18", to protect ride comfort. P. S. I don't like the "loads of spokes BBS type" wheels, I think 5 spoke looks good.
  8. Hi, I thought you said you had 19"wheels? Can you post pictures of them?
  9. I went to halfords who didn't have the right size. Then I went to euro car parts who wouldn't sell me anything because apparently they have to book parts out against a registration plate and as my registration plate doesn't bring up a car they recognise they said they couldn't sell me anything. To say I was seething was an understatement, what an absolutely ridiculous situation!
  10. Hi, do you have pictures of the wheels you are looking to replace?
  11. Thank you, just had a look. So the ar70 is 700mm, or 28", which is 2"shorter than what's on there at they moment. So now I'm not sure whether someone has put longer-than-stock wipers on mine?! Seems like we shouldn't have to put up with unwiped areas of the screen!
  12. Hi All, on my gosh how hard can it be to get windscreen wipers?! Been online trying to get a set ordered, all the sites state the driver's side is either 26" or 28" (mine measures 30" so I don't want to get a smaller one!) and 14" for the passenger side (mine measures 16"!). Where are people getting their wipers and what size are you all buying?
  13. Thanks Chris, this makes perfect sense, i speedo conversion done electronically. However if I convert what it tells me now (5.5 miles per litre) to km, that's 8.8km/litre, which is approx 24 mpg (imperial gallon). That works out a bit more than I calculated when topping up, 194 miles from 64litres of lpg. Is the figure shown generally a bit "optimistic"?
