What does this do?
Hi, Alphard, Ah20 2013, 18 speakers. I’m removing my amplifier, going to connect speakers directly to new head unit. I found this attached to the amp. Can anyone tell me what it does and whether I need to keep it plugged in? Thank you.

2010 Vellfire GGH20 no sound from audio system
Can I ask - my speakers have recently stopped working (ah20, 18 speaker premium sound) the rear screen was removed a year ago. I have an android head unit and the connector shown above goes directly into my canbus. The canbus has a green steady light glowing. Can’t figure out why it would suddenly stop working. do I need to short these wires as mentioned above?

Audio stopped working
An old post, but did you get this fixed? My android hu was outputting sound fine but now it’s stopped and I can’t figure out why. I have a feeling the amp isn’t firing up as I usually hear it through the speakers, but no more. Anything I can do to bump it on?

Canbus android Head Unit
hi, I have just bought and installed a dudu7 11” HU. Most things work, but not any steering wheel controls. Were yours working ok?

Removing the ETC System
yes I HAD an original unit that I muted it on, but since removing this to put in an android head unit, it’s come back on again annoyingly.

Removing the ETC System
Hi Chris, the right hand button I found was a volume setting but just toggles between low, medium and high volumes - never off. So looks like I will have to disconnect it.

Removing the ETC System
got you, I’ll just try the volume then!

Replacing head unit
Sorry for resurrecting an old post, but I’m in a similar situation to the OP now. For my head unit 56107 18 speakers (most of which are no longer needed as I have a full length side conversion) I understand there are two options: a) MOST decoder box that still uses the amp b) Amplifier bypass cables that still connect to the amp but doesn’t use it However, is it possible to completely remove the amp and everything else under the passenger seat, and use the speakers direct to the android head unit? The motive behind this is to free up a little more storage space. thank you.

Petrol tank capacity issue
Funny enough I’m having the same quirk. When the gauge looks low, and the fuel to empty reads less than 100 I can only fill up with approx 37ltr. I have a hybrid 2013, I’m wondering if the fuel tank is smaller in these?

Miles and Kilometres
I thought I was clear in my original post 😂 the speedo is in mph and the odometer says km but I have tested it with a distance travelled app and it appears to be miles.
-
Miles and Kilometres
If he did, would the readings i mentioned above be miles? Not just the speedo and odometer?

Miles and Kilometres
I bought from a private importer not a dealer, but seeing as speed and odometer is registering miles I’m assuming it’s a chip as you say. My question though was on the km/ltr and distance to empty. Are you saying everything should be in miles? I.e. fuel consumption is 8.1 miles per km in the above? also….myncar was showing 81km to empty (as above, maybe this is 81 miles) and only took 37 ltrs to fill up. Seems a bit low to to me, I’m unsure what the tank holds (mine is a 2013 hybrid). thanks again.

Miles and Kilometres
Hi all, my new to me alphard 2013 has had the speedo converted to mph, and I’ve tested the odometer that despite still saying km seems to be miles. do you know whether the km/l reading and km distance to empty would be miles as well? These seem harder to verify (to me!). thanks

Confused in what to buy 🤷♂️
Hi all, I recently started looking at buying an alphard or vellfire, and now I’m serious about it. I started looking at series 30 but decided the prices were too high. So a decent 2012+ series 20 will be just fine. This will be a daily around town driver for me, about 25 miles per day. Hence I was looking at the hybrid models, but I’ve been told the 2.4 hybrid is not reliable, but I cannot find real life evidence of this. I also read about excessive engine oil consumption on the 2.4, but again not sure if this was sorted out on later year models? can anyone with similar models share their experience with this engine? The car I’ve seen is actually a 2013 with 64,000 miles. Is this mileage ok or is it considered high and therefore a risk/more maintenance required? any info to help me decide would be much appreciated.

Rotating middle seats
Ah, thanks a lot for that. Funny enough, I was thinking maybe removing middle row seats is a good idea (I just hate the thought of throwing out excellent quality seats!). do you sleep in your Alphard? If so, I presume you use the 3rd row somehow? also, does your picnic unit now slide on the runners or a fixed position unit? thanks again.
