  1. When the cable failed there was a crows nest of wire and the black enclosure holding the drum / spindle had to totally fallen apart. When operating the electric door before the new cable mechanism was installed, you could hear the door motor turning. After replacing the cable mechanism, I tried the door but there is nothing, and to make matters worse the soft close mechanism either doesn't work, ie the door sits ajar. Sometimes it is pulling itself in but clunks if in manual or auto closing. You can see the whole door vibrate / click when it shuts and it makes a horrible noise although does at least close the door. I've tried to disconnect and reconnect the battery to 'reset the doors'. The other side and auto boot both work and beep when you press the button. The drivers side there is no beeping and no motor sound. I was pretty careful when putting the new wire mechanism in. I've been sat looking at the thing for 4 hours this afternoon and cannot fathom what is wrong. I've checked the door wires are seated correctly which they appear to be. It's a bit of a head scratcher. Even if the electric door couldn't be used I wouldn't be that annoyed. Its a classic thing that I've done previously, which is fixing it worse. I wish all jobs went well! Thanks
  2. Hi, I've just replaced the cable on my door and I have 2 issues. 1. The electric door doesn't work, even though before I started the motor turned. 2. I have the dreaded soft close clunk. What cable was out when you did it? Thanks!
