you will need to purchase a special relay and there are instruction on youtube by "TCs anything". it takes a lot longer than it seems as you would need to connect a wire from your tailgate to the open/close button above your head. but obviously, it do able. Also, when its done, you will need to unlock the locks at your tailgate by pressing the big rectangular button first, then press the little circular button for the tailgate to lift up.

Thaks for the reply but not relevant to what i was asking

The passenger mirror camera and the front camera are very easy too hook up too by the looks of it.

Under the passenger seat is the IPA (parking assist controller), and on this connector.....

You will find both the cameras connect to this connector, front uses pins 23,24,25,26 and the side one uses 15,16,17,16

Now all they are is CV+ (red) and CV- (white) which is the video signal itself. And to make the camera work it needs 6v feed to CB (black wire), and Ground is Ground!

In the back of the android head unit there is connector C, with camera input pins for all the cameras, my back up camera is connected currently to C5/C6 and works. So just put the side one to C3/C4 and the front one to C9/C10.

Well that's the theory, I'll tell you if it works in a few weeks time when I give it a whirl, but there is little doubt in my mind it'll just work but hopefully the pictures are the right way round etc.

For info tapping into the side and front camera feeds at the park assist ecu works fine. my plan now is to use an ali express switch box and use that for front and side camera and then use the dash switch to switch between the two.

    Hello fellow Alphard people,

I've had my 2012 Hybrid for a few months now and never had a problem with audio until now. We used to get the Japanese lady, one or two radio stations and, most importantly, I could play music by connecting my phone via bluetooth. However, suddenly audio has stopped - all is silent. The volume buttons on the steering wheel no longer display anything and the knob on the right hand side of the head unit doesn't do anything when pressed except toggle between an 'Audio Off' message and blank. My phone is connected and I can see the selected radio station or music tracks, but there is no sound. There is not even the old intervention from the Japanese lady when you start up - instead there is text message in her place.

I have a feeling some setting or other has been changed somewhere, but for the life of me I can't find it! Anyone out there have a suggestion as to where I should look? I've managed to change the language of the head unit English (apart from most of the lower level menus) so am able to navigate top level menus, but I can't find anything that will allow me to switch audio on or off.

    Any suggests extremely welcome!

    Thanks in advance.

    Did you solve this issue?

Surely you could just splice into the camera wires without cutting them and then the park assist will power them for you. you can get a 4 way camera switching box on ali, reverse activates in reverse as normal, front camera activates when braking and side camera activates when indicating left just left right dissconnected. or just use a 2 way switcher and connect front and side to it and then the feed to aux on the android.

I just want all the original stuff to work with the android head unit I've just fitted. Most of the Alphard and Vellfire 20 series have the camera in the front grill and the left mirror camera already as its part of the Auto self parking system, but I've never seen any one on the internet or in person with an android head unit that the extra parking assist cameras work, or the roof screen. And it is just a few wires really to get them working from what I've found so far.

Also if you unplug the factory roof monitor, the whole audio output system stops working for the front head unit etc. You would have to make a few bypass wires to reform the MOST connections that go though the factory roof monitor. Because the signals from the front head unit loop though the roof monitor before getting to the amplifier unit. It is all solvable though with half a clue of the factory wiring.

Anyideas on bypassing the roof screen to get the sound back

As @Chris.ac mentioned, a photo would have been handy when I had a go at getting access to my blocked drains.

So, here you go and my story...

    IMG_4021.thumb.jpeg.fb5ab7b8a191778fe6978ec0e8c3537a.jpeg

It was hell trying to get the left nut undone on my 2008 Alphard, it had locking glue on the thread and I suspect never removed before.  I had already got the nut off here before I thought to take some photos.

    IMG_4020.thumb.jpeg.f978b6e45cb0c7f26f5e12e38b2cbb17.jpeg

However, the right nut was much easier - just a single turn was required.. and POP!

    IMG_4019.thumb.jpeg.4e1ce963320100151aefa411dfbfe02e.jpeg

    So, instead of this...

    IMG_4022.thumb.jpeg.06dd45666129946ea169e3aabdf509e7.jpeg

The right hand side is now like this..

    IMG_4023.thumb.jpeg.a27d718f5a058b22ad79c8726691a218.jpeg

And discovered it was unhelpfully not an easy replacement...

    IMG_4024.thumb.jpeg.4e77dbedef8a126ab0d572584fab4c7c.jpeg

Frustrated, I retreated inside with the sunroof to investigate fixes to my screw-up...

As everybody knows, a story like this is always improved by adding the phrase "and then it rained..."

So it did exactly that. /sigh

Well, at least the drains are now unblocked.

EDIT: Any tips you may have on where to buy a replacement part would be greatly appreciated!

Drill it out, tap and counter sink, then screw a countersink cap head in.
