Sunny morning today, ran through all the tips above, no airlock, fluid levels perfect, bottom hose hot but maybe no hot enough? Didn't reach high enough temp for fan to cut in so I think it must be a faulty stat...stuck open a little. Will order a new one & report back. Thanks for all the advice. Happy Xmas to all the Alphie's out there🎄

Thanks for all the tips. It rained all day today so I will investigate more in the next few days.

Hi Mike, thanks your advice, will try that today.👍

Hi everyone I know its Winter but my 2007 v6 is running a lot cooler than usual..the needle stays below the bottom of the guage for 5 min or more then slowly creeps up to a 1/3rd of the scale. It used to be 1/2 way. Also not as much heat through the vents.. I suspect thermostat but it was only changed last year. Any help out there? She still is whisper quiet and runs like a dream. Should I be worried?

Aux input on headunit 2006 (56) Alphard 2.4
PZsurf replied to rallychief's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
Hi Chris I run a twin channel (red & white 3.5mm) in the rear consol into the headphone socket on my Android phone.. switch the head unit to video..you dont need the video socket for audio and hey presto, yog can play spotify etc through the head unit..sounds awesome too!. Just need the correct lead. -
Hi Mick, This won't help you that much, but I do use those connectors to play Spotify through my phone. It's an Android with a 3.5m earphone socket. I have the cinema sound set up and play it through the video channel using a two phonos to a 3.5mm jack plug..sounds amazing so they definitely can work. I'm not sure but they maybe audio only sockets.

Strong Petrol vapour smell
PZsurf replied to PZsurf's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
Thanks Chris That's a strong possibility I do tend to fill up to the brim when doing a long trip.. Will stop doing that! Hopefully that will sort it! -
Hi, Has anyone out there had any experience of a sudden strong smell of petrol in the rear nearside/filler cap area. I suspect the breather pipe? as no trace of any leaking fuel..My 2007 V6 has done 80,000 miles total, half of that after import, mainly between Cornwall and London. Its a super engine and had never missed a beat. At the risk of starting a second thread, I have being running Michelin cross climates tyres for over two years now, at 37psi and they have been superb with minimal wear😄... I highly recommend them despite the extra up front cost.

Thanks Rojie...Will do👍

Good Morning to all Alphard lovers...can any knowledgeable owner advise on a good quality replacement drop links, my 2007 Alphie needs at least two replacing, so I want to change all 4. So many different makes on the market, I am hoping someone can advise...?
-
Hi I have also spent hours with Google translate! I agree with Rojie, your 10gb disc is probably full though that is a lot of songs. My unit (panasonic) uses built in software called Gracenote. It's a high speed recording system. Play the CD and it fully records it, usually in around 7 minutes....very clever. A little red logo appears when it starts. Sometimes it will index the CD in English, somtimes it doesnt recognize the UK titles. I also need to delete some Japanese playlists but that's for a rainy day!

Recommended dealers in the midlands
PZsurf replied to glarhzilla's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
I agree with Picasso, Stuart Spencer Autos is a great start point, they are very helpful and knowledgeable. Lots of other good dealers around but SS Autos supplied my gorgeous V6 G -
Powered doors won't close
PZsurf replied to robstarrob's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
Hi Sorry can't help with the costs involved as it was a warranty job and they sourced the parts needed.Best ring round a few of the good specialists near you. As Dezufo says, it was the whole assembly needed changing. Good luck -

Hi I had exactly the same problem 2 years ago, door eventually jammed half open in a thunderstorm! It was indeed a snapped cable, I believe the cable assembly consists of two loops of cables, and a plastic lug was jamming the mechanism...someone here with better technical knowledge may explain better. Anyway the nice guys at Stuart Spencer Autos in Tipton put in a new cable under warranty..no problems since. I now coat with silicone spray which doesn't seem to pick up dirt. -
Bluetooth phone connection only 1 speaker output
PZsurf replied to Nukes25's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
Hi I have the theatre system too & same head unit...phone comes through loud and clear. I definitely found phone settings using the right hand menu buttons on base the head unit. Can't remember how but will take a look at the weekend. Sub woofer under the seat won't kick in unless you set include speakers to 'REAR SEATS' using the left touch button on the on screen balance menu...then it sounds awesome! -
You may have lost the front camera function if you have swapped out the head unit for a UK one. You can still get the green light on the dash but no live feed😪 a good installer will maintain this great feature. Incidentally you can choose different camera views through the Japanese menu!!

No diagnostic system invoved.. just old fashioned trial & error..replacing possible culprits ond at a time..should have started with the plugs though! I am no mechanical genius...just reporting my solution...if it helps someone else then great..! But Andy's Alphard may have a different issue. I found the Lexus V 6 forums were a good source of info especially ref the high idle. -
Juddering on acceleration 3.0
PZsurf replied to Alphy51's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
I had some similar issues together with very high idle on cold start, after much investigation...changing sensors etc, I changed spark plugs from the fitted NGK to the original Denso ones.. All issues sorted!😀 The rear bank of 3 are a pain to get at though! On removal the rear three NGKs were older than the front three, so it had had a 1/2 change of plugs in the past😂 may be worth a try! My 2007 is super smooth now. -
Hi Suzie I am not too far from you and I always use Paul from Crossroads Garage in Ludgvan (01736740880). He is a really nice chap & a great 'can do' mechanic. He has looked after my Alphard and several Bongos before my Alphard. He seems to be able to sorts issues without full main Dealer diagnostics. His only gripe is that he reckons Japanese engine mechanics have very small hands!...as access is very restricted. Worth a call. Chris 😀
