I have a 2016 with a JBL premium setup. I installed the Carplay box, and it works fairly robustly. It keeps the existing menu, etc., and you two-finger touch the screen to switch to the Carplay unit. I wanted to get a later-model JBL head unit and just swap it out, but was advised it's not as simple as the they also change other parts. like the amplifier or whatever. The cost of installation and supply was around 400, I think. UK, Birmingham.

Hi, does anyone know if you can extend the timer of accessory mode. I like to sit and watch a programme sometimes when waiting about. its like 15 minutes then the car shuts down. would it like it longer.

i a also trying to do this. was wondering if i can get a later jbl series headunit that has the carpplay functionality and just replacing mines.

If it helps i just got a spare same model key from ebay, and a local auto key tech came and programmed it with ease. they also cleared the keys on the car registered for safe measures. e.g. i had one key only and there were 3 keys registered to the car.

same for me except it happens during the drive randomly. orange 4WD light. i have a 2008 4wd 3.5 velfire.
