Hi all , happy to report that I have found a local mechanic not afraid to tackle work on my Alphard. He removed starter motor inspected Flywheel and found no significant wear, installed new starter motor and it started on the button whoopee. Thank you all for your help sourcing part and diagnosis.

Hi all, I am still having a problem getting anyone to fit my new Starter motor, has anyone got experience of fitting one , so I can perhaps do it myself. I am pretty old but fairly fit and willing to try, but any tips and special tools required would be helpful.

Hi Lee, I really appreciate your help, I am going to remove old starter and see if I can inspect flywheel condition while someone turns the engine manually, can you tell me if I can do any damage due to mis alignment?. I will then order new motor . Its really good to have the help and advise from being part of this forum, Thanks again

Hi Picasso, HC53HBH, Had RAC out due to start problem, he had to turn engine manually and it started straight away. It wouldn't start again till he repeated the procedure. Thanks for your interest.

Hi I notice the model of my vehicle is listed as a Hybrid, it is a regular petrol vehicle.

Hi Has anyone had a Flywheel replaced on a Alphard 2003, having real problems getting a garage to undertake this work, I cant even find apart no. to see if replacement can be sourced. Can anyone offer any suggestions. cheers
