  1. New carpets! Inspired by colleagues on this forum and supplied by Odyssey. Just brilliant. And tailored to my particular rear “ light conversion” with third row seats removed, side benches and table installed.

I hope you can tell I’m delighted. Beige was never going to be a good colour for carpets in a campervan! IMG_4487.thumb.jpeg.ecf720b8152845ffc82d18cb55b7459e.jpegIMG_4483.thumb.jpeg.2e0c18f24c32c43c76e8f8f60be34e98.jpegIMG_4486.thumb.jpeg.383542dd0df2266575bff9c2154d694f.jpeg

  2. Hi, Rojie. I have beige interior and am wanting a tailored mat set. Can you tell me where to find Odyssey Carpets/Steve Barnes and what cost for this set you shared on photos. They look great.

  3. Hi, and thanks to all who’ve posted on here. I’m just discovering how the audio ( yes, and video) work on my recently purchased 2006 Alphard. I’ll likely be back with some questions once I’ve had a look around and discovered what is obvious. It was a couple of weeks until I managed to open the head unit for access to CD player (with another port for an SD card like on my old camera). I’ll now have a scout round for RCA connections.
I, too, have drop down screen in rear and remote control. Nothing happens yet ( but remote turns it on). Will fiddle for a while and…..likely be back to pick your brains!

  4. Hi. Update.

Rather protracted telephone call with Caravan Guard, including photos of “ light conversion” to show it was done professionally.

Their questions were more detailed than others I had had. 3 named drivers. Insured as campervan not car. One driver has 3 points ( not me!) 2 locations where it might sit on the drive. 7000 miles expected in the year. Social domestic and pleasure ( no business or commuting). £499.
    I'm happy with that. 🤠🏴‍☠️

Interestingly they called me back twice to query overnight parking on drive - they had consulted Google maps and wondered if there was room!! I had measured. There is. But interesting this aspect was checked.

  5. Well I’m having a right job finalising insurance on my about-to-be-purchased Alphard. First quote from Sterling was £1700. Then Just Kampers ( part of Sterling) quoted £757. Adrian Flux ( also part of Sterling) said they wouldn’t insure the vehicle - didn’t know what an Alphard was ( yet some on this thread are with Adrian Flux!). Waiting 2 others mentioned in this thread to call back. For some a straight car is fine to insure but not if it’s converted. Some will only insure campers/motor homes but insist on photos and confirmation conversion was done professionally.
Life feels too short for all this. But I hate wasting money!

I’ll let you know how it works out 🤞

  6. Hi. I’m new here and live in Cornwall. Had a couple of VWs in past but taking delivery of an Alphard in 2/3 weeks’ time ( once DVLA process completes).

This parts list will be really useful, I’m sure. Thanks for sharing. I’m now exploring local garages who can take on servicing ( and even repairs - eek!) There are a few Alphards around but may be holidaymakers! So planning to stop them ( safely) and find out where they go!

    I’ll be back.
