  1. It's the blade but it has the plastic housing around it, I've got one on ordered from toyota parts dept, £20. I'm hopeful that the front ones last better. Thanks for replying K x
  2. Picasso, You have made my day, ! As you've offered.... some plank opened their car door as I was driving past on a narrow lane and they've broken the indicator lens on the nr side rear view mirror. It's pushed it inside, it still works fine but I'm worried about wet getting to the electrics and it looks rough too. Its sort of cracked half of the front side of the lens off so it won't fit back into the space. Secondly how do i get into the mirror housing to fit it back flush. Thanks for your time, K x 20250716_222519.heic 20250716_222458.heic
  3. Thanks for your reassuring reply. I came straight to the forum, I wasn't at my best, when as you rightly say I should have done my research before panicking. I am not only an Alphard newby but an import newby. Double whammy I had visions of sourcing donor vehicles. K x
  4. Thanks for your quick responses It may have been the rest bumper now its been thought about properly. As for 45 mins, I'll pull the mechanic about this. I'm getting the " daft female driver, she'll fall for it" Ha !! Little did they know!!! Thanks again. K x
  5. My beloved 04 Alphard needs a new rear windscreen wiper, which I have had to source from the dealers. While waiting for the computer to get its head around Alphards, the parts salesman said to my complete horror that the wiper may not be available as Toyota has stopped making parts for Alphards, as they are 'old, rare, imported and often modified' I begged his pardon and asked him to repeat himself. He was admittedly quite sympathetic but it was of course beyond his control. Have I been living in a biscuit tin underneath a large stone? I feel devastated, I had hoped to keep her rolling along for the foreseeable future. Is there any concensus about how to keep Alphards on the road? Any ideas? Anything we can do? Here's hoping, Kathryn
  6. hi, Hoping someone can help, I've a 2004 3litre petrol alphard, converted to 4 berth camper. the entertainment system is turned on via a small circular black switch which is situated between the steering wheel and the touch screen. The switch has a red led light to show its on. I was picking up dropped 'stuff' from the drivers side floor, when i noticed another if these black circular switches on the plastic panel just below the steering wheel. It was lit up with same red led. The manual doesn't mention it, it is a translation and only for the mpv so no camper info. There's also a blue light at the side of the petrol cap and bonnet opening switches which seems to flicker if i turn off and back on. any ideas?, I hope its not for an ejector seat Thanks Kathryn (alphard and camper newby ) Another 'newby' question, my rear fog light is out. I've been told it's a 45 min job as the wing needs to come off? . Really!!! And is it an mot failure?

  8. I've also recently bought a 3.0 4wd and its been 'blinged up' with fancy alloys and low profiles, would I be able to fit ordinary tyres to the alloys or am I going to need another set slightly smaller to allow for the extra few inches of tyre wall.
  9. I am buying a 3litre 4wd alphard camper what road tax will I pay and does the camper conversion make a difference it an 04 plate
