    Hi @ombakjernih

Sorry to trouble you again. I'm using the same 20 PIN Raise Canbus decoder box as you. But I struggle to get this working.

Can you confirm if I should connect the circled into behind Pin #11 and #12?

Connect these green wires behind Canbus decoder's pin 11 and pin 12 accordingly

    Thank you.

    Hi @TonyOh

Yes. Pin 11 & 12 from meter. Then pin 13&16 to HU.

You can refer my photo. If not working, you can swap position pin 11&12

Update here if can work or not.

    Many thanks @ombakjernih

My Android Unit is a recent model (Onkyo X-QD1800 https://onkyocaraudio.com/products/x-qd1800)

To my best guess, new Android head unit models have canbus decoder integrated inside (see screenshot below).

I'm thinking i might be able to achieve the same outcome as you but without the need of the black canbus box.

This means it should be possible to connect green + green/black cables directly into CAN-TX and CAN-RX to the back of my Android unit somehow.

And then I can explore using either HiWorld or Raise options from the settings of my Android head unit.

This is in theory though but I derive from a screenshot of my Android unit above. THANK YOU AGAIN for the inspiration through this thread.

You theory is wrong. You still need canbox because only canbox can translate data code from the car to Android HU.

@ombakjernih Thank you so much for sharing this thread, it is much useful. I'm considering to follow you on this.

    Just two few questions please?

    1. Is this still your current setup or you have changed anything further to have more features and is there any side effect from using so far ?

    2. Just for me to avoid any mistake, where should I plug the circled part below pls?

So far this setup still same as before. But i try use other brand canbus like Hiworld and not much information I got. Raise canbus can read more data like external temp, odometer and remaining range.

For your 2nd question, the cable you circled, connected to canbus input CanH and CanL.

I recently bought a new Head unit from aliexpress, everything connected well as it was plug and play with old android unit. I have managed to get video out to ceiling unit, reverse cam working with trigger, speakers too.

My loom also came with the same Canbus decoder you have but I'm not sure how to get it working, I have gone into the factory settings and selected the canbus to detect alphard but nothing gets detected. Do i need that thick red cable 40 pin? that you have connected up?

Yes. To use canbus you need to have 40pin or connect directly to diagram I share.

    Hi Ombak,

Was your Android HU already a 360 camera version or did you need load an app to get the 360 camera function to work? - just bought a 2014 Alphard with the factory 360 camera and the 18 speaker system and am researching Android HU options 🙂

Yes. My HU come with 360 camera. As per new different technology my advise is change with new camera.

You need to buy canbus with decoder amplifier as you mention with 18 speaker.

    Hi

I looked into getting Canbus information to the head unit but there is no signal in the wiring behind it. It looks in your photo that you are taking it from behind the dashboard which makes sense as all the data is shown on the dash. I think you can also get it from the ODB socket, in fact I bought a cable a long time ago from AliExpress that came with an ODB plug. I never tried it

Yes. Either you tap from meter or obd still the same. this is the wiring to get data Tx & Rx from canH and canL only.

But the obd port I connected with elm327.

  7. Hi everyone.

I installed android player to my car since 2022.

Before this I never bother about the extra function using canbus box because my car didn't come with 18 unit speaker.

Last year I make a study about the function of canbus and make some modification.

    1) I bought the socket for meter 40pin. This socket connect to canbus box and HU. Original for other car.

    2) I change the connection point to 13&14 follow the diagram

    3) then I bought canbus Toyota from raise.

    4) after that setting the HU

    You can get information like

    - parking trajectory

    - door information

    - parking radar

    - outdoor temperature

    - millage odometer

    - average consumption
