Hello Stephen,

Welcome to the Forum.

Hi Stephen, have you press the small button down and try and shift the lever whilst button is held down??

Also, may find that the brake pedal needs to be press down before shifting, there could be an issue with the witch on the pedal.

I saw a youtube video on changing this switch - I think I recall that there are actually 2 switchs, one is for the break lights, one activates the selonoid that releases the gearshift and allows engine to start

Hi Stephen and welcome to the forum. Afraid I can't help with your problem, hope you have it sorted.

Have changed switch had the AA out  can't get it to start when still stuck in gear released  but is there a relay or fuse between the key start and the gear linkage thanks for replying

Is there any codes? There are lots of sensors on auto gearbox's. Do you have engine light on? What did the aa man say?

Got it started gears ok it was a fuse hiding under the passenger side behind the relays very hard to change

Hi Stephen,

Glad you got it fixed.

For the benefit of others, which fuse was it ?

Fuse number 23   It was a7.5  fuse on the passenger side behind the glove box looking for the floor pan up which was a hard job to do good luck

That's the MET IGN fuse.

Glad it was something simple and the fuses are a pain to get at. Use the fuse puller out of the fuse box in engine bay, makes it a little easier

Hi,  Isn't it great when clubs like ours can generate advice which helps other members to sort out problems with their vehicle. Keep it up folks!!
