OldWellhouse Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 There are about 3 acres of space on the dashboard and I've seen a pic once of a fitted mat that looked quite good and would be handy for when stuffing things on the dash while camping. Anyone got one?
Chris.ac Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 i have a cheaper felt material one on my 20series, fits well, I havent stuck it down, it doesnt budge. It really helps with reflections off of the dash on the windscreen when driving, was pretty cheap on ebay 1
Gruf Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 Hello Chris, just by chance do you have a link for this item or any company details. My dash reflects really badly against the windscreen on sunny days. Any help would be great. Thanks Gruf 1
Chris.ac Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 I got a 20 series one on ebay, I see this 10 series on on aliexpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000021581313.html
Chris.ac Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 (edited) if you want plain black they have it in flannel (nicer feeling, £20 as opposed to £15) Either will make a huge difference to the reflections, now if i leave a parking permit ticket on dash, its like being blinded by the reflection off of the glass. It is especially good when the sun comes out after a rain shower, only have to squint against the road reflections and not the dash! Edited May 21, 2022 by Chris.ac
Chris.ac Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 Just another note - there are different ones available if you have the centre dash speaker, and you can pay double or more for leather, if so inclined
Gruf Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 Thanks for the fast reply and the info, I will have a look. Thanks Gruf
OldWellhouse Posted May 21, 2022 Author Posted May 21, 2022 Cheers I hadn't even thought about it preventing reflection. Will have a look on Ali.
Rojie Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 Great idea. I tried to order one, but couldn't ! Will try again in a few days

Alphard Club Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 i find i get reflection from the dash so having one of these will really help. 1
Chris.ac Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 it makes a big difference - I used to use an old picnic blanket in my older Estimas, but this is so much neater 1
Gruf Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Good afternoon, just back from holiday and tried to order a black flannel dash cover. Went through the system, but as soon as I put into shipping to the UK it sais that the seller did not ship to the UK. If you managed to order from this company, how do you get around this. Thanks Gruf

OldWellhouse Posted May 29, 2022 Author Posted May 29, 2022 Mine has left Shatian Town in Guangdong and is en route. 😎
Chris.ac Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 only advice, is that due to it being folded in shipping, you may want to give it some mild steam ironing with a sheet over the top, to get out some of the fold creases so that it sits perfectly 'flat', I didnt bother, so it took a few weeks to settle completely 1

OldWellhouse Posted June 13, 2022 Author Posted June 13, 2022 Mine arrived while I was away and I dont know how to judge it to be honest. It seems to be cut correctly with the holes in the right places and I think the postage creases will come out but I think it's gonna need a shed load of velcro patches or double sided tape to hold it in the right place. I'll make a decision on sticking it or not when the creases are all gone. The area on the windscreen side of the demisting vents will be an issue I think.
Gruf Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Just to let you know that my dash mat arrived a few weeks ago, it was creased but after a week of hanging it up with a weight on the end these vanished. I have installed the dash mat and have no dash reflection anymore. It still needs fine tuning position wise, but 100% satisfied with it. Thanks for all the help as it was a good find.
Rojie Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 I just put mine on the dash; removed my windshield blackout and let the sun bake it flat. Mine is not, and will not be, fixed unless absolutely necessary as I intend to remove during winter
