2005 Alphard,1 V6 - Just passed Mot with flying colours - Whopee!!!

MoT Inspector observed 20 year old wheel was perished and not available as a 'normal' tyre.   Any suggetsions where I might find an 'affordable' replacement.

Thankyou. The MoT comment that it was old and rubber perishing. Not sure a second hand one will make things better. Hadn't realised they were 'special'. Looks like £200+ for a new one.

But not sure spare wheels affect the MOT, it is was not there then they will still pass the MOT, its not a legal requirement.

I recently bought a used one and rubber is fine, so buying another one should be fine as long as its not perished.

Ta - It was a helpful comment after MoT, that the spare rubber was perished.

Agree a 2nd hand one might be fine but worth being careful and I need for this W/E for Europe trip.

Same as your suggestion, but a few pence cheaper and next day delivery.

I think the spare tyre situation is one of the (many) quirks of an MOT.

If it is there it must be legal, but if it isn't it's OK.

Although somewhat unwise not to carry a spare, not having one is quite legal
