Hello all,

Are there any extra sockets hidden away anywhere in these cars. I’ve noticed there are fuses for the AC inverter on the back of the centre console (AC INV) and the cigarette lighter (CIG) and also one labelled P/POINT.

Is there an extra power point somewhere else?

Thanks,

Steve.

Not that I've found Steve.

I have added 2 x usb charger sockets. One is to the left of the 12v socket, and the other to the right of the steering wheel for charging my phone.

It's my intention to add at least one 12v so cket in the boot, and usb sockets near the centre and rear seats.

I piggybacked on the AC INV fuse for my dashcam. I assumed it was the fuse for the cigarette lighter as I could not see one that said CIG. I don't have an AC Invertor so it could not be one of them. I also have a fuse socket with a fuse in that says 4WD but I don't have 4WD.

I am about to add a double USB socket next to the cigarette light to charge up phones, and run a cable down under the centre console to add a double USB socket there, as on my Vellfire there are no sockets there at all.

Ok, so I guess it must be a standard box filled with fuses some of which may not be powering anything.
I’ve got 4 wheel drive and sunroof fuses but don’t have either of those things.
I was considering getting this for the blank to the left of the cigarette lighter: https://www.amazon.co.uk/CHELINK-Charger-Adapter-Suitable-Samsung/dp/B07GDKWZWM

Steve that's fine. Just beware there are 2 x different sizes for Toyota, but that's correct. If you fit to the left of the cigarette lighter, the cable provided has the correct ends to fit into the existing wiring.

I measured my switches to be 33x23mm approximately.
I did notice some sold as Toyota switches are quite a bit taller.

There are two sizes. The one I got has a size of 32.5mm x 22mm, but they do the same one with the larger size.

Just check the description before ordering.

I have a similar USB socket as Steve linked, except mine is 'reversible port' so you can connect the usb cable either way around, good when fumbling with eyes on the road.

Are they safe. If the plastic guide has been removed, you are just left with four thin pins. Plus the must have 5v wire to what is normally the data sockets. It would be safer to get USB C sockets and USB C cables. These are designed to be reversible.

Is there a rear 12 volt socket anywhere in the Vellfire? Look for all over and I can't see one!

Nope

I have an extra double usb socket next to the standard one and then I run a couple of 4m usb cables to the back for the kids.
