Wondering if anyone has had a roof aerial mounted.

I am experiencing poor DAB+ reception (a fluctuating 1 or 2 bars at best, and mostly on the FM link), though I understand this part of Devon is particularly poor for DAB. The installer of my Sony head unit recommends a vertical roof aerial but I am reluctant to shell out and possibly waste £230 .

Thanks.

I fitted an active dual type fm/dab, removed the drop down screen in the roof bolted the aerial in place and ran the wires through to the dome light at the front then behind the roof panel and dropped down behind the A pillar trim then across to the headunit, that price seems a bit steep, mine was the one in the link https://www.amazon.co.uk/Universal-Receiver-Amplifier-Extension-Blaupunkt/dp/B07W2X4PZ5

Thanks for your response. Yes, I thought it a bit pricey so will not go that route. I'll stick with the cat's whisker.

Alpine, Pioneer ( there own) and other sofisticated car head units will normally advise the roof type 'FIN' units for Dab insulation  yes their expensive but very low key on an already high'ish roofEightwood DAB+ DAB Aerial Car Radio Aerial DAB Splitter SMB SMA GPS Adapter AM/FM Aerial to DAB Shark Roof Antenna Signal AmpEXAMPLE

I fitted two last year, remarkable Dab results!
