Hi .  It's Mark in Vancouver, Canada.  I just bought a 2003 Alphard.  it's cool.  But I'm a little worried.

I can't find any info on head replacement other than Alibab .... and what about the headlight lens .

Anyone else follow this up ?  and perhaps have a few leads from locals that see more of these than in North America ?

Any help appreciated.  Mark

I changed the head unit a few weeks ago. Bought the replacement from Aliexpress, specifically the EKIY store. Not for the faint hearted I would say, but plenty of videos on Youtube. I went for a Ekiy unit because of decent customer service. They ask for a photo of the bare rear of the existing head unit (there are various different ones fitted) so they can send you the proper connecting leads. Took several weeks to arrive, but really cheap and seems well made. Fitted the dash well. I can give extra info if you're interested.

I found the headlight lenses very opaque, but the light level seems ok even so.

I'm in the UK, btw.

Mark why do you want to replace your headlight lens

I actually thought I might have to.   I've just purchased the van and the lens was heavily crazed.   It has responded really well to some wet sanding and buffing and has come along.   Another round on the weekend.  there's lots of plastic there to buff.  They're thick.

That is so intersting about your head unit.   I'm pretty greee on this Forum, but I think it will be fantastic to keep up with you folks.  This is a very rare van in Canada.

If you get a headlight restoration kit it has all you need to polish the lens and seal it against uv rays, if you do not seal them you will be polishing them again in 6months. I have used the Ceracote kit which might be available in Canada.

I replaced the head unit with a Pioneer Avic-Z620BT, you can get adaptor looms to keep the steering wheel controls, the only other small problem is the front and rear cameras as they are 6volt but adaptors are available in 4pin or 24pin depending on what is behind the oem head unit but I replaced them with 12volt cameras. most of the connectors on the head unit just plug in. link for headlight kit >https://www.amazon.com/CERAKOTE-Ceramic-Headlight-Restoration-Kit/dp/B084RQKLV8

Hi. Maybe post the attachment as a jpg? (assuming it's a photo).
