I have just bought a 2006 Alphard which has been (side) converted to a camper. Neither rear windows (forming part of the sliding doors) work and the vendor told me that the company that converted the vehicle in 2020 had deactivated them as part of the conversion. I felt that the vendor was absolutely honest in his dealings with me and I do not doubt what he told me. 

I am puzzled as to why the convertor would have disabled these windows. The powered doors open normally. The front windows open normally.

I wondered if someone could speculate as to how the convertor might have deactivated the windows so that I can try to remedy the situation. I have tried to identify a fuse might have been removed to stop the windows working but with no success to date.

There are only 2 fuses, 1 for the LH side and 1 for the RH side so as the fronts work it will not be a fuse. They might have removed the connector on the back of the switches on the doors, although I fail to see why they would want to deactivate the windows,

You could ask Andy Andy's Imports (andysimports.co.uk) as he specialises in conversions of Alphards and might know why and how to fix it.

I have a Toyota Alphard 2006 and when I bought her the rear windows weren’t working. I found a YouTube video on how to recalibrate them and that worked.

Do the windows operate okay from their own door switch? If so open the window half-way then after a couple of seconds close them and hold the switch in  the closing position for a couple of seconds after the window has shut. This should reactivate the control for the window from the drivers door switch. This procedure is in the UK version of the car manual and is for use after the battery has been disconnected when the programming of the switches is lost. It works for both rear and front passenger doors.
