Emma Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 Hi, I've just bought a Toyota Alphard with a rear conversion by Northstar and have got out insurance through Lifesure. They weren't sure how to class the body type so have put it down as motor caravan. The new keeper slip says private/light goods and the 12 month warranty says car. I'd be interested to know how others' Alphards are classed. Thanks
nov Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Body type is a Van- minivan to be exact, now with rear Campervan conversion. Private Light Goods in your V5 slip is a class of the vehicle for the taxation purpose. From the insurance point of view you may have different price for Motor Caravan vs Campervan as Motor Caravans are usually bigger, they may cost more to insure. It all depends from your insurer, how they classify this.
Emma Posted February 16, 2021 Author Posted February 16, 2021 Thanks for clarifying. They've now got it as a Toyota Alphard Northstar Camper which should fit the bill.
