Rear sliding doors stop half way. How to reset

Recommended Posts

My sliding doors have taken to stopping half way ever now and again. I'm thinking this needs a reset. Following a flat battery the windows were doing the same. I managed to reset them.

Any thoughts?

So, your sliding doors are electric ?

Is your once flat battery fully charged ?

Have you had it tested under load ?

Are the obstruction sensors clean ?

There is a catch on the bottom hinge that activates if you open the sliding door when the window is open, I think it is a safety feature. Have a look next time it happens, if it is activated it works in both electric and manual mode.

I’ve noticed the sliding doors only open half way when boots open

This is an odd point.

I agree that open windows will prevent (electronically) the door opening fully.

But I haven't come across the boot open issue before.

So I am assuming electric side doors (both ?), is your tail gate electrically assisted also ?

Yes. Just checked.

Both my electric side doors stop short of fully open when the windows are open.

This is as it should be.

My tailgate does not stop opening, or closing, whether the side windows/doors combination is open.

Does your tail gate operate perfectly when the side doors and windows are closed ?
