PeteF Posted April 8, 2023 Share Posted April 8, 2023 Hi, I’m hoping I’m in the right place and that someone here can help. Basically, we have a 2009 Vellfire which we bought last year. When we bought it a CarPlay system was installed which upgraded the Vellfire head unit to connect to our iPhones. The system will play audio from our phones if they are connected. However, the controls do not show up on the screen. We now just get a plain blue screen and cannot select it via the touchscreen. Does anyone have any idea why this may have happened? Also does anyone know where the CarPlay box may have been located in the car and where I’d have to look to find it so that I can take a look at the connectors to check nothing has fallen out? Any help would be much appreciated. Also, I know that this was installed by someone in Birmingham. You could try Ben Hau, he is in the Midlands, he may be able to help you. He is a well know installer of upgrades to head units. You'll need to search for him on this forum. Chris.ac Posted April 8, 2023 Share Posted April 8, 2023 (edited) Do you have a roof mounted screen? If so, lower it, does the carplay unit show up on the roof screen when aux is selected? Can you post image of your headunit? The headunit will not display video from the aux input if the parking brake is not applied, so when the carplay is fitted, either the parking brake signal is grounded in the headunit, or an aftermarket switch is used to toggle the signal Edited April 8, 2023 by Chris.ac 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
