Ecoglo
Hello all. I've been pondering how to make my alphard into a comfortable camper without removing the rear seats. I've seen these custom galley boxes with fold out bed slats. but the majority require you to remove seats. I need to be able to swap back and fourth. The seats are comfortable all laid out, but I want maximise the storage in the back. Has anyone solved this problem? I've explored laying a futon frame on top of the seats with a mattress on top. Just leveling out with smaller cushions. I want to maximise storage for cool box, stove etc. And have a comfortable bed. I'm thinking just frame out a box between the folded seats in the back with sheets of ply that rest on the folded middle row. Suggestions ideas thoughts, measurements, photos etc. Would be much appreciated. Sam
Ecoglo
The union jack galley box is the closest I've seen.
Notabongo
I have a small unit full width of van by about 12 inches in the boot with sink and storage and mini stove which sits on top of the unit.... Both sets of seat facing each other front set slides down flat to the rear ones which stay up, gives about 6 foot 2 to sleep with drivers and passenger seat pushed forward
Ecoglo
This sounds interesting. Do you have your back seats folded to the windows? Do you have a bed platform or use the seats as they are?
Notabongo
Just flatten the forward row and keep the back ones upright, they are tight against the unit in the boot area... And that's the sleeping area
