Hi, can anyone recommend diagnostic equipment that can communicate with the engine management system. Tried a Snap on Zeus but it does not recognise the Toyota Alphard, also tried a cheapy version which did communicate, found Five Faults but could not say what they are. This is a 2007 2.4 Petrol Hybrid.

I live in the Kettering area so any feedback would be appreciated.

Over heating is usually down to the inverter pump. Did you get any fault codes, if you did look them up on line, You could try an Ancel 700 or similar that has the JOBD protocol

Hi Bob, I can’t help with your overheating issue but I invested in an ANCEL JP700 diagnostic device which works very well for my 2007 2.4 Alphard. I imagine it would also be suitable for a hybrid vehicle.

I have changed your vehicle type to Hybrid.

You mean it gave you the fault code but didn't expand on their meanings? If so, then the Ancel JP700 is unlikely to tell you more.

You probably need Techstream instead:

Hi Geralt, have ordered the Ancel 700 from EBAY, if that doesn't help then will try Techstream.

Will share the results with the forum.

Cheers all
