Sandy
Looking for a bit of advice on replacing my battery. It has died a couple of times over the last 6 months, despite me starting it weekly. The most recent time I decided to get the AA out to jump start and see if they could find anything wrong with the electrics, was there something draining it. The guy could find nothing causing it to drain but did suggest that the battery we have was small for the size of vehicle. At 400 cranking amps and 45 amp hours he thought it should be bigger. 5 days after he jump started it and I took it for a 45min drive, it’s flat again. So I’m thinking I need to get the battery replaced. What size of battery do others have in their Alphards? It’s a 2.4 litre petrol Thanks
A JCB
Stay away from Yuasa, buy a Tayna Bosch 12v 60ah battery, that will even be good for 3.0l engines
wjvh
400 cranking amps is good, but total capacity at only 45aH is small. I’d go for 60 to 85 aH capacity. Tayna are good value, I’ve bought batteries from them in the past no probs. Yuasa is my preferred brand for my motorbikes and they have a good reputation. Bosch also good; definitely go for a decent recognised brand.
