  1. Just got renewal from Aviva … it’s gone down £60, so about 20% reduction.
  2. @Shayne scott what I have spare is NOT a full set, it is the front cab and rear window only, so does not include the rear side windows. The original poster @Nadgos appears to only want cab windows. I will give them another week to rsvp but if they’re not claimed by then I will offer to anyone else; if you still want them yourself then I’ll put you at the top of that list. Cheers, Will
  3. I've got some going for free if you want them, you'll have to cover P&P. There is a front windscreen cover, both front cab side windows, and the rear window. The rear side windows I am keeping. These are spare because I have got black-out curtains installed behind the cab and across the back window now. They stick on with suckers and you can have all of those. DM me on here to sort postage etc. The brand is CovProtec, made in UK. Thanks, Will
  4. The obvious culprit here is the pop top roof and that’s where I’d be looking.
  5. I mostly use my van for motorcycle track day now; have fitted this fantastic awning, 2m wide and extends 2.5m out and includes and led roof light. Well made. Permanently fixed to roof bars now. I have extensively modded the rear; removed middle row of seats so it’s just a 5 seater now, removed original floor and fitted my own 12mm ply floor, bolted to chassis, and reinforced underneath. Will get some more pics of that at next few track days. Always get admiring/envious comments at track days. Love this vehicle, so capable and well built.
  6. This vehicle is frickin great. Had it 5 yrs now. 2005, 190K km (I think), 3L V6. Mostly use it for motorcycle track days; yes my bike fits in back fine; I am soon fitting a 12v winch to help load the bike in. Currently doing some interior and electrical work to improve things for me, centre console removed and now spare if anyone wants it.
  7. Difficult to obtain as not many listed; best bet is to contact someone with an Alphard being broken for parts; there are quite a few of those about and hopefully something not too far from you.
  8. Sold. Apols, they sold quite quickly but only updating now. Thanks.
  9. 2003 v6 is 4 spd, isn’t it?
  10. I’ve got a feeling that the 4 spd and 5 spd auto boxes have a slightly different filter. And if my hunch is right the link provided previously is for the 4spd box.
  11. I’ve also fitted a little microphone on the drivers sun visor which plugs in the back of this so you can take hands free phone calls, the microphone was about a fiver off eBay. I tucked the wiring into the fascia so there isn’t much wire visible from the microphone.
  12. If I remember correctly it was an ex-display model for about £130. In hindsight I should have paid more and got a CarPlay one … but this works fine and connects via Bluetooth reliably to my phone, and indeed any phone.
  13. I fitted a standard UK double din Bluetooth unit in my Gen 1. Everything matched up in the consul except; Steering wheel phone controls (other steering wheel controls work) Front and rear cameras: I never used the front one, in fact I have since removed it. To get the rear one to work I had to buy a special plug from Japan for £95 and also tap the rear reversing light wire, camera now works on my unit BUT I don’t have the guide lines. No loss to me. It all Works great. Easy DIY job based on forum and YouTube tutorials! Be brave.
  14. Pair of genuine Thule roof bars for Alphard gen1 (2002-2008), might fit other years, please confirm for yourself. They are lockable and come with 1 key. They come with genuine Thule square section bars. All in good condition. Would prefer collection from my home near Durham. Can post at cost but give me a couple of extra days to sort packaging etc. £250 or best offer. Cash on collection. DH2
  15. @big_boz yes I used a ramp, I upgraded ramp to an extra long and extra wide aluminium one which i can strap down on roof bars if need be. It works a treat, I do lots of track days now with a Daytona 675 track bike and always get lots of interest and positive comments about my transport set up. I also have a 2 x 2.5m awning permanently secured on the R side of my roof bars and I’ve converted the floor to a hard base, but kept the rear seats and rails so still a useful 5 seater when required. Gotta say … i love this van, so versatile and reliable.
  16. Plenty of room for my Triumph pocket rocket too.
  17. Please post pics. Most of these things can be bought very cheap on eBay.

  19. Correct! Straps not on yet, I depart Friday AM and will have the bike properly secured.
  20. Still got this big ol rig, nearly 2 years, it’s been brilliant. Can swallow a classic motorbike whole too!
  21. You want a USB socket but with 12v output, correct?
  22. About £250 with Aviva. One of the main problems is that many insurers don’t recognise it as it was never an official UK market vehicle; however Aviva does. So far I’ve had no issues with them, I even paid a little bit extra to take it to Holland/Belgium this year and the premium was very reasonable, just £28 extra, about +10%.
