Sorin
Hi all, I am writing to ask for your help about the wiring for the head unit. I have a 2012 Vellfire 2.4 petrol. When I bought it, the head unit was already replaced with an Android. When I wanted to change it with a better android, at the back I found a total chaos in the wiring, as you can see in the pictures. My car has only 1 speaker in each door, so 4 in total, plus 2 small Pioneer fitted on the A pillars. From all those wires I noticed that the ones for the Steering Controls are missing and I don't know from where to bring them to the head unit. I also have a grey connector with 4 wires that I don't know what is for, but I suspect that is for the rear camera. It doesn't connect to my head unit, but my rear camera works! Please help if you can!
Geralt
Looks like it could be this pin out:

In the 16 pin connector I have the 2 SW wires, but are connected to nothing. This is why I want to find where these wires are coming from and connect them. I bought the car with an Android and the SW buttons were not working. You can see the SW wires in the pic.

The photo is not clear enough for me.

The photo is not clear enough for me. In the previous photo, the 2 SWC are the short ones pointing up, a brown and a brown+white. They are positioned on the 16 pin connector as in the pic attached, pin 6 and 7. Edited March 15 by Sorin
Geralt
So they are pins 6 and 7? Just making sure.

Also, when you are reversing, are your guide lines moving in corelation with your steering wheel moves? I mean, if you are turning the steering wheel to the left, are your guide line moving to the left too?
Geralt
The guidelines issue would not be fixed by connecting 6 and 7. The KEY inputs (6 and 7) only connect the SWC buttons, volume etc. It is not for steering wheel position as far as I know which is most likely transmitted over CAN. Is connector C in use? I will update about 6 and 7 later.
Geralt
I don't have any guidelines on my HU camera.
Geralt
Sorry, that's garbage. I do have guidelines but they don't move for reasons mentioned above. My older van doesn't have CAN anyway.
Sorin
Connector C is not in use, the 2 Can wires. I do plan to connect them, I have to think at a way to plug in to the Can lines.

Geralt
I tried lookin for Gen 2 wiring diagrams but could not find them. I can only advise what I found out for my Gen 1 in the hope that it might be the same/similar on yours. The SWC button resistor ladder is connected like this: Where for you SWC1 = KEY-1 etc.....probably. So I would look for Yellow/Black, Brown/Yellow and Red/Yellow wires coming from the right hand side of the centre console. The J10 connector looked like this: If you can get the wiring diagrams, you can identify the wire colours.
Geralt
I'm not so sure now. @Voodoo101 thinks that volume etc comes over CAN. I don't think I'm helping here so think I'll bail. You need to find someone with Gen 2 experience. Sorry.

Chris.ac
Sorin, the lowest spec audio system has 8 speakers. 2 corners near windscreen. 2 drivers doors 2 sliding doors 2 rear seat sides I assume you only have buttons on the left side of steering wheel? Try here. Geralt
2 is ILLumination DETection. i.e. This input triggers the illumination of your head unit when you've switched on your vehicle lights. Not 100% sure but 4 is an output to an active antenna amplifier. Just checking. The XTRONS label you posted is the new HU you're installing, right? When you asked the question originally, I thought you didn't have the pin out information but since you do you can just ignore my picture. I have similar pins on the new HU and I was wondering what are these for. Also, on the old android, I have a RCA labeled video out, and the roof monitor is mirroring the main HU. I cannot find a similar one on the Xtrons, although manual mentions about this function ( but not how to connect the devices). Can you see a potential video out on the Xtrons pin out? Chris.ac
Antenna power is a hang over from the 80s/90s. It's basically a head unit powered output, it used to be used on electric extending antennas, or as a power on signal for an external amp. Basically equipment you wanted switched on, when the headunit was switched on.

Hi Gerald, thank you for yor help. I managed to find the wires for the steering wheel controls, this is the last one with the head unit. The unit is a TIE124. I searched in the manual that was in the box and it is not mentioned.
