Wozzer100uk Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Hi all. Hope everyone is good. My automatic Alphard has developed an issue with vibration and a loud rattle. This happens when I slow down to a stop when in drive and have my foot on the brake, I can feel a vibration and rattle. As soon as I move it goes away. It's worse then in reverse and I have to brake but still in reverse. It doesn't do it all the time and sods law didn't do it when I took the van to the dealer I got it from. Any advice on the possible cause when be appreciated. Thanks VID_20240425_114923.mp4

Wozzer100uk Posted April 25 Author Posted April 25 Thanks Rojie, sorry I should have said I've had the van 2 years now and no more warranty. I live very close to the dealer and just popped in for some advice. They are very helpful.

Wozzer100uk Posted April 25 Author Posted April 25 Hey Picasso, thanks I got it from them and took there today. They had a look but it didn't do it when I showed them but did when I got home. Was just looking anyone may have had a similar issue. Cheers

smurf Posted April 25 Posted April 25 The exhaust is visibility moving, and the noise sounds like the exhaust is tapping against something or a loose heat shield, if it has heat shields anywhere.
The Boonies Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I wouldn't be surprised if that is something simple ie not expensive. If you slowly increase the engine revs when stationary does the noise go away ?

In reverse I can feel the vibration in the whole van
