Bottom door lights

Hi all, I have red reflectors at the bottom of both driver and passenger doors. Someone has given me the lights that fit in place of these reflectors, the wiring is there and the lights fit perfectly. Unfortunately they do not light up, has anybody got any information as to how to get them working? Is there a fuse/relay that could be missing? Where would that be? Thanks for any help in advance, regards John.
