That's awesome, could you post link to the AliExpress connector? That is much better than cutting into wires, certainly something most owners could keep in the glovebox as a 'just in case' solution, if their screen circuitry acts up, or if they decide they want to upgrade to a better rear screen.

In case the link dies at some point in the future, its a "28 Pin Automotive Audio Wiring Harness Connector Socket Toyota" with a male socket.

Gents I'm having the same problem with my 2014 Vellfire.  Head unit powers up, but no audio and unable to control the volume either via the adjust knob or the steering wheel controls.  The rear screen is also not working.

I've removed the rear screen to attempt bridging the pins as above, but my connectors are totally different...

I have the 18 speaker theatre system.  Is there somewhere I could view the wiring diagram for the 2014 model so I can attempt to bridge the correct pins and hopefully restore the audio?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Removed the head unit today and took a photo of the connectors if it would assist?

Part number is 86100-58104

I managed to get the wiring diagram from Toyota based on the VIN number (clip of the relevant page below).  This document relates to a 2014 model with 18 speaker system, rear monitor and panoramic roof.

I'm yet to attempt to bridge the pins.  Looks from the diagram that the Mi Mo wires relate to the brown plug and not the larger white one as I originally thought.

Will update once confirmed.

Hello from Germany,

my audio system stopped working. I have compelte no sound and the roof monitor is not working.

The failurecode in the headunit is B15D0 Most Comminication.

Does anyone have the fixed the same problem?

I crosschanged the Headunit and the 18 Speaker Amp with another Vellfire. They are working fine.

I measuered the complete Most Ring in the car. All cabels are ok and i have no wiring issues.

Does anyone have an other idea for my problem?

The partnumber of the roof monitor is 86680-58041-A0

I read soemthing about a broken roof monitor, but it can be fixed.

Does anyone know how it can be fixed.

Thanks for you help.

I love the car, but this problem ist abslout anoying. 😢

I have exactly same problem to my 2012 Vellfire, sound went off and the back monitor not working, if anyone know how to fix it, please share to me.

Adding some additional images of the back of the plug in here which will hopefully help someone in identifying the correct pins to bridge.

I had intermittent sound since I bought the car and thought it was faulty. Thankfully I replaced the battery before the stereo and that fixed the problem.

Update for anyone else who is having this issue on a late model (2014) Vellfire.

On review of the wiring diagram and pin outs, figured out the Mi / Mo wires related to the brown plug.  Stripped the 2 black wires and found 2 smaller Purple / Brown wires.

Looped them out purple to purple and brown to brown.  Audio restored 💥

Your problem solved?..help me

You need to strip the loom gomg into the back of the brown plug.

remove the shielding and you'll see 2 purple and 2 brown wires. Loop them together and you'll get your audio back.

Obviously keep the plug in case you get the monitor repaired and can put it back to factory.20241129_185533.thumb.jpg.81b99ad19ae8b50682df1071ac4012ba.jpg

You sir are a a legend. I stumbled upon this thread and if I hadn't I was going to spend up to $8k or even more on trying to fix the problem. I was even close to purchasing an amplifier part # 86280-58090 but couldn't find the specific amp and there was one place in nz that could order it for $4.5k. I'm so greatful for you awesome bunch and I pray that God blesses you all with your hearts needs.

Ps I own a 2012 Toyota vellfire 3.5 v6 with the 18 speakers.

Thankyou thankyou thankyou thankyou

Thanks Bro, what my plan is I will brigde it using wire temporarily until I found a screen replacement. I just need to know the position of purple wires so I can connect it properly.

Cheers

No problem bro.... sharing is caring 😀😀

I have done this and it works temporarily while I'm waiting for the replacement roof monitor. Have a look at my video and follow the instructions bro and you'll save a headache. Condensation occurs at the top of the vehicle a lot and this is a downfall of having a roof monitor over time it will bug out.

You can slide the pins out the back bro. I found out after I cut mine 🫡
