Late update.ย

The bridging works perfectly.ย

ย

The challenge now is where to find the OEM rear monitor or someone in NZ can repair it.ย

ย

Thanks @Tama from fiji

Heck yea bro. I found a couple at scrap yards but I'm just worried it won't be worth it. I'm thinking of doing a aftermarket one.ย

Im also thinking of aftermarket one but could be hard for me to install it.ย ๐Ÿ˜ย

ย

By the way where you find it,I mean which scrap yard? Im looking but cannot find anything. Im located in East Auckland.

I live in np and was there for about a week searching scrap yards. I found a couple down south auck, national car removal and car parts Ltd, JCP Parts had vehicles but the conditions were questionable. It's worthing having a gander as you're up there, maybe you'd probably find us a solution ๐Ÿซก

Hi, Iโ€™m from Melbourne Australia, my 2014 Vellfire has exactly same issue like your, sound stopped working from all speakers and the roof top monitor stopped working also.

I asked my local audio shop to check, but no luck, they couldnโ€™t handle my case.

ย

Any suggestion to fixing this issues ? Appreciated your input & help!ย

Have a read throughout this post I reckon it would have a similar fix.ย

Take apart OEM monitor, get the board, wrap in foam paper plug it back to the connectorsย ๐Ÿ˜ƒย only the board. That's how I get the sound back. And I swapped the headunit for an android system too..

My Vellfire got the same problem audio stopped working as well as the roof monitor. Would you explain more in details how to fix it ? Appreciate your help !ย

ย

Steps to remove the head unit isย

1.Remove trim surrounding the t.v unit

2.remove the 4 shiny bolts and and lower t.v unit down.ย

3. Locate and bridge brown connector as stated in the video. You can do this by using spare wires and just bridge them from the plug (female) side and ensure it is secured.ย

4.test and see if they work

5. Out everything back and you should be sweet.ย

Thanks for your Input, I will try it out. It mean the roof monitor need to be replaced as well ?ย

No, this is a fix to get only your audio back. What happens is over time condensation and normal ware of the components within the t.v unit stops working and hence it breaks a circuit within the amplifier, when this happens it causes the amplifier to think there is a fault within the whole system, speakers last longer and the first to go are the t.v units. So yes this is a common occurrence and fault with these systems. Apart from that this is the knowledge I have gathered ever since this has happened to me. Cheers and I hope this works for you.ย

Thanks, if I replaced an OEM roof top monitor, do you think the speakers will back to normal ?ย

One way to find out if it's actually the t.v is the problem is to test it by bridging those wires. If it works then there's your problem. It's an expensive replacement and if I'm wrong and it's a speaker that's causing the issue or something else then you'd be at a loss. Are you still able to put the screen down through the radio?

Mine is a 2013 Vellfire Gazoo Sport Edition with 18 speakers.ย  I have also removed the original screen to replace it with android screen.ย  I also linked the purple and brown wires together to get the audio working through the toyota amplifier.ย  Thank you fir the great tip.20250517_132951.thumb.jpg.54f7680afd33ce488dbb198d1aa0abdc.jpg

Can I ask - my speakers have recently stopped working (ah20, 18 speaker premium sound) the rear screen was removed a year ago. I have an android head unit and the connector shown above goes directly into my canbus. The canbus has a green steady light glowing. Canโ€™t figure out why it would suddenly stop working.ย
ย

do I need to short these wires as mentioned above?

It all depends, you only need to short it if the sound went off immediately after removing the roof screen.ย  If it was working after removal of the screen and sound just stopped suddenly, then its some other issue.ย  ย Try connecting the speakers directly to the Android unit and see if it works.ย  This is what I have done to get a better sound.ย  There is a video on YouTube showing you how to do this.
