Rear windscreen

Hi Ann,

I used a vehicle dismantling EBay site to get a part recently.

It’s a central point for dismantlers to market their stuff.

The part (rear light cover) cost a 1/3 of the new price and was in perfect condition.

If you’re interested I’ll dig out contact details. 
 

BTW Our local garage had difficulty getting parts info for MOT prep. I think the issue was the vehicle being a Japanese import. His parts supplier was stumped.

Rojie (?) on here sorted things out for me re part nos. 😉

As mentioned by others, EBay is a good source, I have bought quite a few replacement on EBay, far cheaper than anywhere else. For example zi required  door cable,was quote £350 by my local garage from their source, I bought one on Ebat for £170 and they fitted it.

I recently had a smashed side window. It went through my insurance company but I sourced the part and the company that fitted it and sent the bill to the insurance company. I bought the part through the local Toyota dealer. All they needed was the registration number, with which they confirmed the serial number of the vehicle. It had to come from Japan. They said it would take up to a month but in fact came in less than two weeks. It was about £460 but the insurance paid for that. The parts department could not have been more helpful, but the service department didn't want to know about fitting it, but I used a small local company.
