Hi all. Had an issue today with the van. First the engine management light came on the a while later the speedo stopped working. Vehicle is driving fine.

Took it to a garage who plugged in into the Diagnostic machine. They said it is the gearbox speed sensor.

My questions are:

What is the best make after market sensor to buy, & where from ?

Going to start with Toyota but I guess they are going to be expensive.

The other thing I have just thought of, could it be the thing that converts to miles ?

If anybody knows the part number for the sensor, that would be much appreciated.

Hello Kevin can you pm me your reg no. And I will get the part no. For you regarding  the part that converts the miles is called a ckun09 chip this sits behind the dash there is a possibility it could be that at fault . The speed sensor there is 2 fitted to the gear box as I had mine replaced 18 months ago similar fault to yours .
