Hi all,

Is there anyway to change the sensitivity of the auto lights? I can be driving down a country lane with overhanging trees and my lights will be turning on/off with the slightest bit of shade. I've had an android system fitted so not original.

Cheers

Pete

There maybe a member on here that  has the software just hang on till more members read the messages I have the software and does so many other members

Appreciate it 👍🏼

Techstream, or the Android/apple app 'car scanner' with a Bluetooth obd2 dongle will allow you to adjust the delay before lights turn on or off, there is also 5 sensitivity settings, although those seem to have very little effect.

I've bought one from eBay and AliExpress, both under £10.

I'll pm you the AliExpress link.

The link i shared is s common design, but be aware that not all of these clone devices are jobd, the link i used has an older design with dedicated daughter board inside.

I cannot vouch for the newer single board designs.

Thanks Chris

You can bluetooth ODB reader and get the free carscanner app, that works but I think the techstream has more options

For android mobile, the dual PCB one for£3.70.

Just wanted to say thanks, also to Picasso and Voodoo101, got the OBDll dongle today, plugged it in, downloaded Car Scanner which allows you up to 3 alterations for free, changed the sensitivity and delay timings, not bad for £3.70, saved me a small fortune I'm guessing on taking it into Toyota. Haven't tested it yet, waiting until it gets darker out but again wanted to say thanks and what a great community here 👍🏻

No problem.

It's shocking how much summer of these obd2 adaptors cost.

I have a Google play pass, so carscanner full version is free, but the app is still cheaper than some of the annual subscription ones like iCarly.

Have you tried the other functions, like having all the windows open and close on long press of the lock unlock fob buttons? Quite useful when getting out of the car and the children have left window open.

I went to change this, it's when I realised I only had 3 free changes, still think the £25.00 subscription for the year is worth it so may go ahead with that.

Just to confirm all changes are great, just been out and lights come on a lot sooner 👍

Google play pass is £5 a month or £30 for a year

If you don't think you will change settings often, subscribe to Google play pass for a month, it unlocks this app, so you can mess about for a month.

I created a separate Google account, pay for the year google pass, then my children add that account to their devices, too, and get a bunch of games unlocked, like terraria and stardew valley, lots of puzzle games if that's your thing.

Of course, car scanner also allows you to scan diagnostics, and create dashboards that can setup to view coolant and gearbox oil temps, battery voltage and charge rate,

Fuel trims, abs readings, etc etc.

It's a good tool.

I also found it's too sensitive, would like to change it too...  Does DashCommand app work? I have paid version already.

I’ve no idea, I was advised to use Car Scanner, maybe someone else will be able to confirm.

I cannot see the app listing the ability to perform coding changes.

Just install carscanner, you get a few coding changes for free.

You could always create a new Google account, and install it on that account, then delete account after.

OK, I will get a carscanner recommended OBD to start

Speaking of lighting.. Is there a "hidden" DRL option that can be activated on these JDM cars?

No. Unless you hack the auto light option.

My solution was to fit dual colour led indicator bulbs.

Light up constant white, and switch to amber when indicating.

You can also write so that when your actual sidelights or dipped beans are switched on, they deactivate
