Kia Ora,

Second post on the fourm, this time I'm looking for some help with a smell. This is the first time we've owned an automatic car, so the closest I can compare the smell to is a burning clutch, but I'm not sure if that's possible? It's happened twice in the last week, once while heading up a mountain road, and once under heavy breaking at the bottom of a mountain road. We did note that the smell wasn't there while climbing the second time, only after reaching the bottom some time after the top of the pass. Has anyone had experience with anything similar? Should I be worried for a hefty repair bill or is it potentially a smell from the breaks?

Many thanks, Greg

Agree with Lee.

Try cadence braking until you know the cause and have it rectified.
